Don't get me wrong because Jesus is this a awesome phone, so its all going to be about choice this round. Waterproof or Metal? Touchwiz or Sense? Ultrapixel or Megapixel? Amoled or LCD? (P.S. both trump the sorry excuse that is the iPhone 5S so you can't choose wrong)

oh and another thing that almost every reviewer forgets to mention is the usb 3.0 super fast charging and data transfer...charging from zero to full charge takes about 2 houres it used to be 3.40-to 4 houres

I'm tired of the complaints about the plastic case. It feels good in the hand and I put my phone in an Otterbox, anyway. Also, the dust and water resistance is huge. I can take it to a waterpark and enjoy taking pics. Nice! I love the clarity of the screen. Much higher pixel count than others. Another super feature that I love is the battery extender. If you are low on battery, you can extend your use dramatically. Try dunking your HTC or Apple in water for 30 minutes, hmmmm? I think you would need to replace it.

Def upgrading from my S3 which BTW i still love. The problem with the S5 that people have is that Samsung has been so amazing with their phones so far that people expect so much from them. This phone is better in every way then the S4 im glad I skipped getting the S4. My only issue with the S5 is the color selection sucks.

The HTC has 3 good points. The S5 has several more good points actually. But really it boils down to which good points you personally value. The HTC has much better sound (nice if you use your phone much for sound without ear buds), and the HTC's Sense interface is marginally better than Samsung's Touchwiz, although it's android so you can change all that if you really want to. And the HTC looks/feels more expensive. The S5 has a drastically better camera (and no, I'm not basing that on megapixel count, I'm a camera techie type, and Samsung's new 16mp camera hardware/firmware technology is the best android camera you can currently get, Nokia is the only company with a better camera but you'll have to suffer having a windows phone), 4k video, possibly the best screen sold on a smartphone this year, waterproofing, fingerprint scanner (which does work well if you don't swipe fast, and actually has many uses), a better screen size to phone size ratio, lighter, more battery life, replaceable battery. Personally, I'm trying to kill off the need for owning a separate digital camera, I use protective cases on my phones making a premium feel back plate pointless, and I don't play music through my phone without plugging it into something anyway. So the S5 is the obvious winner for me. Although I am so tempted to just wait for the Note 4 in September...

Don't forget that metal cases are not so good at low temperatures or in the colder climate. Metal gets very cold in a minutes and it is not comfortable to hold it without gloves. Also, in a cold weather battery drains faster than in the plastic case. And it is not replaceable. So there are people who will always choose plastic. However, Samsung could design it less boring. That's for sure.

The gs5 has the most storage of any phone, you can put a 128gb micro sd card in it. That's a lot more than the m8. And the finger print scanner is easy if you're IQ is above 90. You just use your whole finger not 1/3 then take it off. Swipe the whole thing. If you only need a tiny part, then security would be terrible.
