I have the S24 Snapdragon version. I'm not exactly mind blown with regards to the camera. And battery life too

Me too, I ordered it specifically for Snapdragon and found it's underwhelming. Also the video is choppy/drops frames and it's not as smooth like iphone. I am thinking about getting iPhone 16 as the 120 HZ doesn't really phase me.

Both have their different strengths and weaknesses. Can't ho wrong with either. I guess it all boils down to ones preference between android and iOS

the focusing issue is because iphone 16 pro has lidar while base s24 does not have lidar but ultra does

these always come down to a personal use scenario. for what i use my camera for, iphone still wins. i also hate how photos are made vivid and oversaturated on the S24. it's like it always has some kind of filter added to your photos. very social media ready tho, like you said. i'm not using mine for that tho, so it's just annoying to me. but interesting that the warm color shift swaps phone when zoomed in. the stabilization changes on the ultrawide lenses make sense, because the s24 is digital and therefore can more easily hold the photo, but the 16 pro is optical, so obviously you can't shake it around. you need a gimbal of some kind for optical stabilization. it's a truer photo though. i'm not a fan of digital zoom and refuse to use it on any device. i think it looks like fake garbage. it's hard to even watch the s24 while moving on the other options too tho. and 8k seems kinda garbage on all devices yet. it's a similar comparison with gopro vs insta360. in some cases, things are better, but neither does everything great. same here. really gotta choose based on use scenarios. outside the digital filter garbage, they perform how i'd expect based on the sensors they have. basically ideal would be the s24 night sensors/stabilization (but not the daytime one, that was terrible) with everything else 16 pro. i was looking into sensors and samsung has been making some really awesome stuff, but it's being used in cheaper phones in the US obsessed with massive MPs, which defeats the purpose of having an awesome sensor.
