If you are here because the latch doesn't move when you open the handle, it's because the latch rolls backwards when it unlocks. The two guide rails inside the latch drop when it unlocks allowing it to roll the wrong way. Just spent an hour to find that out, it's not listed anywhere either

Hello, that is correct. Unlike conventional door locks, the Samsung mortise middle latch does not pull back or retract when the handle is pulled or pushed down. Instead, it folds the opposite way when the handle is engaged. That way, when you're trying to open the door, all you need to do is push/pull the handle (for push-pull handles) or pull down the lever then, pull or push the door as the latch will just flip out of the hole. We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version kzbin.infoUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

Hoping someone can help. I've installed it, created the pin, everything is working; but when the door shuts, it doesn't lock/arm? Followed every guide online and no luck. Any ideas?

My door thickness is 38mm and on Samsung installation guide it shows door thickness 38 to 60mm but elsewhere it says minimum is 40mm. Can it be installed on my door?

Hello! The latch turns soft when you pull down the handle. It's not meant to retract as Samsung had designed it uniquely. So when the door is closed, you just need to pull down the handle so the latch will turn soft. Then, when you pull/push the door to open, the latch will just flip out of the hole.

how to unlock it if i try four times and still can't open, my fingerprint sometimes recognize it and i easily open and sometimes can't recognize my fingerprint anfd i can't open the door. what i need to do?

In step 9 at 5:15, my dead bolt doesn’t pop out when I push in the latches. Is this an installation problem or something else? Among other problems, the “close” button does not lock my door at all from the inside. From the outside, it also does not lock, it would lock/open/lock/open consecutively like it has a mind of its own. What’s the solution? I factory resetted already, still the same.

Mine doesn’t lock when closing… I can manually lock it but it won’t automatically. I’ve factory reset it again even though it’s brand new; fresh out of the box. Held down the sensor and pushed close and it makes a incorrect sound Can anyone help?

Mine too. I moved the buttomn to auto (A) instead of manual but it doesn't lock when I close it. Or when I press çlose'

This happened to us yesterday after a month use, we closed the door, chimed away then the dead bolt wouldn’t move and the key pad wouldn’t light up. Spoke to tech support, they guided us to remove it and check some things and in the end we had to go swap out for a new one from Bunnings. We just hope it doesn’t happen again cause it’s our main door lock.
