I have the same exact model. I went through all the steps of unplugging the power harness from the power supply and the LED lights come on. I removed the wide ribbon cables from the panel and no back lights come on. Based on the video this means it was a bad motherboard so I ordered a new motherboard and replaced it but it still does nothing. I'm still getting the same symptoms that I had before replacing the board. What more can I do?
@a-1tvsalesservicellc18619 күн бұрын
So if you have backlight by disconnecting the main from the power. You rule out led backlight and power supply board failure. Next, if you reconnect the harness from the main to the power, and disconnect the ribbons to the panel and get no backlight, then you know it's a bad main board. Make sure you have ordered the exact same part number of the main board, BN94-#####(Letter) If you ordered the same part number, and it's not booting up, then check your connections. If that's not the issue, then you likely got a 2nd bad main board.
@gamingmunky444619 күн бұрын
@a-1tvsalesservicellc186 both the new board and the old board have the same part number printed on the board directly. Thank you for the video. It is helping me narrow down the problem. My problem started last night all on it's own. The only thing I did different was have a Chromecast v1 plugged into HDMI and the USB cord that powers it into the USB port for a few hours. All of a sudden TV has no picture and starts rebooting. I have opened it up and tried the following. 1. Only power board connected. I get solid backlights and unit stays powered on. 2. Only power board and main board connected. I get solid backlights and unit stays on. 3. Power board, main board and one lvds cable connected. Backlights on and unit stays on. Same if I reverse to other lvds cable. 4. Once I connect both lvds cables and plug in power, tv turns itself on I get no picture or menu options. And it goes on to power cycle over and over. Is there any possibility that the issue lies in the main board. Could something have blown there? Are there any fuses on there? Any and all help appreciated. (I replaced Power Supply that had gone bad a few weeks ago and all was fine until now)
@a-1tvsalesservicellc1864 жыл бұрын
That's a toughie. It's either a bad motherboard or the LCD Panel. But, I'd lean toward the main. BN94-12840X I think is the part number I used for mine... yours might be different. I'd think it's the main because it's possible that the chromecast may have surged it. It's odd that if you disconnect the main on one side, you get backlight, and vice versa. I would sub in a main if you had one to test. It's likely the issue. And as far as fuses, they are microscopic, but usually it test open if you see it bad. (ie k/M ohms instead of 0)

Excellent video! Thanks for posting this. I've got an interesting issue with this exact TV that's been occurring for the last couple of months. It's been heavily used since purchase in the Spring of 2018. Everything will be working fine and then all of the sudden the picture and sound will drop out for a couple of seconds. Sometimes it will happen just once and other times, several times in a row over the course of a minute or two. I've got Roku and UHD Bluray hanging off the HDMI inputs and noticed yesterday that the Bluray player did it quite a bit. Curious at that point, I went into the Service Menu and ran some of the test there. The CPU failed it's test, but everything else passed. In your experience, is that normal for it to fail or do I have a mainboard that will completely fail soon? Only thing I can think of is that it took a surge when a storm came through a couple of months back, even though I was running a Panamax surge protector since I've had it. I've switched to a Surge-X now, but it's still happening.

That's a very unique issue. You can try a motherboard but it may have a firmware type handshake problem possibly? Other than trying to update the firmware in both units, I would try that motherboard. Just make sure you get the exact part number or the direct substitute for it based on the BN number found on the board. Don't go by the generic BN97#, rather the BN94 or BN96 found on the barcoded sticker.

Great video! I don’t have the same exact model, but looks very close. If I turn on the TV, the backlights are blinking, please note that I cannot use the remote to turn it off (which I read somewhere else that this could be a symptom of bad motherboard) I have verified that the power supply board is ok. Then if I disconnect the LCD cables, the lights are still blinking and cannot turn off the TV using the remote. Do you think it is still possible that the motherboard is the issue? It seems to me that your test means: if the LCD is not connected, the motherboard will indicate that, and the symptom be the blinking. If the motherboard cannot detect that the LCDs are not connected, then it is the motherboard. I guess, my question is that could it still be the motherboard and have the TV blinking when the LCD cables are detached?

I followed your steps and have determined it to be the main board as well though I see another commenter found that it wasn't the main board. My symptoms are as soon as I plug it in it turns on which with other devices has always indicated a power supply problem. They get stuck in a boot cycle loop and then I find out it's due to some tracers being destroyed by a capacitor or something like that. mind you I have really no idea what I'm doing I've just repaired a few original Xbox motherboards from modding them in the past. What I'm experiencing is I plug it in I get the red standby light then stand by light goes off screen flickers up boots into software allows me to click around for a while until eventually it seems to then start the cycle and the longer that I leave it on the more the cycle seems to accelerate in frequency. This makes me think it's the main logic board overheating but I checked under the heat sink and it looks good still has thermal grease and looks brand new.

Likely it's the LCD Panel. If you are able to get audio without it rebooting when you attempt the last step, it's likely the main is ok. It's likely one of those two bus cards hooked into the panel at the bottom causing it to restart constantly. Sometimes in certain models, you can get half of the panel to work if you disconnect one lvds ribbon from the panel and leave the other in place... if you can get 1/2 a picture this way, that verifies the panel is bad on one side of the card at the bottom of the panel.

My tv UN43MU6103 i have exactly the same issue. It seems like i have the defective main board. I've seen in some sites they say MU6100 AND MU6300 are compatible but I'm not sure because the part number is different for example: my tv has written BN94-12650A while the MU6300 has BN94-12437F. The part looks exactly the same. Does anybody can help me finding the right replacement. Note: nowhere in the website i could find the BN94-12650A part. Please help me! 🙏

My TV screen turn on and off .? I disconnect the main board and it got power from the power supply led stay on is the same problem.??
@a-1tvsalesservicellc1863 жыл бұрын
If you disconnect the harness from the main board to the power supply, and leave only the power supply and led panel in play, do you get backlight to stay on, and not flicker? if so, reconnect the main board to power supply, disconnect the wifi/bt board from main, and disconnect t-con lvds cable between main and t-con. If tv does not have t-con, disconnect LVDS cables from main board to panel. Does backlight still stay on? If yes, then it's a bad lcd panel itself and is not cost effective to repair. If it stays off, the main board is at fault.

@@a-1tvsalesservicellc186 i just did the test exactly as you did disconnect the wifi. The 2 panel boards from panel it did the same on your video, no lights came on just the red dot on the power stay on looks like I got a bad main board 👍👍👍👍

@@jcalzada74 sounds good. Make sure you get the same part number. If it is a main board for a television in the United States, it'll start with BN94-

Great video! I “think” my panel is toast but hoping you can help me confirm. I made a video too I can send you or I also put it on my page to help others. Essentially, I replaced the mother board, got it off eBay for $40. Great deal. Upon replacing, the TV still blinks on and off- I hear the new board trying to say “hello...” but then the power turns off and then back on. That’s what is puzzling to me. All this to say, the backlights stay on when I perform all the test in this video... so maybe power panel?? Mind watching my video? Really appreciate it!

Lance K Was the previous board having an identical problem? If so, then more than likely, two of the same parts are not going to have an identical problem. *Im not positive which QLED model you’re working on, but, if you disconnect one of the lvds ribbon cables from the main, and apply power, does the unit stay on and does it show any picture on one side of the picture, even for a moment? If not, disconnect power and disconnect the one ribbon cable from the main again. Reconnect the other lvds to the main, and repeat those steps. To me, right now, it looks like the panel is shorted electronically. You can post a second video if you like. Thanks for watching our video!

If the backlight is ok, then the LED strips and power supply are good. It's either a main board to LCD Panel issue. You can try the main board technique from this video. If the part is what's needed, you can order from www.encompass.com. Go off the BN94# found on the sticker on the main board, if that is what you need.

If you cannot update it, you'll need a new main board. (You can also try downloading firmware onto a USB thumb-drive 4gb or less if you cannot get it to respond) Sometimes, it can be an Audio IC failure on the main.

PODRIA USAR OTRA TARJETA IDENTICA , PERO DE UN MODELO DE TV MAS GRANDE , MI TV IS DE 55 PULGADAS , Y TENGO UNA TARJETA DE OTRA TV DE 60 PULGADAS IDENTICA , FUNCIONARIA ? ( COULD I USE ANOTHER IDENTIFIC CARD, BUT A LARGER TV MODEL, MY 55 INCH IS TV, AND DO I HAVE AN IDENTIFY OTHER 60 INCH TV CARD?
@a-1tvsalesservicellc1864 жыл бұрын
You can, but you need a service remote to adjust the options of the main board (ie UN55MU6290). It has to be from the same version number (if you look at the sticker on the back of the television) So if the UN55MU6290 is a version FA01, the tv you are repairing also needs to be a FA01, otherwise it will not be compatible. You also cannot substitute other models, ie a UN40KU6290 is not compatible with a UN40MU6290. The "MU6290" and Version # are the most important.

try removing one side of the lvds cable at a time to see if you get half of a picture. If you do, its a bad LCD Panel. If you don't, it's possible the main is bad.

If it has illumination on the screen but no video, have you verified you have sound? If you have sound + illumination, more than likely the main board and power supply are ok. If you don't have sound, but have illumination, it's possible the main board is bad.
