Since the 6.1 update my s23 ultra battery is draining like crazy! The battery used to last me a day plus now I've to charge it everyday.

I don't have the email app (tmobile phone), but my battery is still draining fast. 3 hours of sot from over 5 or 6 before the latest one ui update on my s22 ultra. Checked battery settings and can't figure out what's causing it.

June update has messed my s24 ultra up certain things have been playing up. I also keep getting the annoying wifi call notification ims service and have to silence it for 2 hours at a time.

6.0 update ruined my battery life it used to last all day. After the update it drains in minutes and takes forever to charge. And then the battery bloated ...🤦

Thanks so much for this. Just last week I had to turn on Google notifications in order to set up an automation. Thanks to this video I was able to turn off most of the annoying Google messages.

I use this email app. But I have always had it to manual sync. So with this new UI update of 6.1, I continually get notification when I power on my mobile. I just swipe it away no mobile drainage even though it comes back when you charge your phone or power it on. Works fine for me.

I use Gmail, don't even think Samsung email is offered on locked AT&T, but like you, I've seen a lot of complaints about this on Members. Hopefully Samsung will fix this soon because it would drive me nuts with the battery drain.

I have "1 active in background" showing on the recent apps screen, even after I close all apps. However when I check app battery usage (on the Device Care app) the samsung email app is right down at the bottom of the list, suggesting that even though it's "active" it's not using much battery at all - contrary to what this video suggests.

This app is not part of the deep sleep or background sleep settings but in the app in the app itself if you go to battery, you can set it to restricted or optimized (default is unrestricted battery usage). Restricted is supposed to restrict battery usage in the background. I also don't get any notifications from the email app because they are turned off. Hope this helps.

Nailed it. I get the notifications. I never realized it kept running in the background. I've just been clearing the notification. But I've also noticed battery drain being quite a bit more. Honestly, I attributed it to an app for my new pacemaker that needs to run in the background. So I guess I now have to apps always running 🤣🤣

I see the 'email syncing' notification but it's not causing me any real issues.....wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't brought it up lol. I think it cropped up with the June security patch in my case. I've an S23 Ultra and I have my accounts set to sync every 15 minutes anyway Device care is not saying anything either about backgrund usage being high. They'll probably come up with a fix sooner or later but I'll keep using it....not really a gmail client fan. Thanks for the heads up Jeff!

Why do Samsung update need a "fix"? Doesn't anyone check peoples work any more? It should be a perfect as possible before release,with as few errors as possible. Obviously samsung employees are not up to scratch. Maybe someone should be brought in to "fix"them?

No issues for me using Samsung email on my s23+. I had sync emails notification but it swiped away and hasn't come back

Because my wife and I heavily use the Microsoft ecosystem (MS 365, OneDrive, etc), Outlook is our preferred client. So, neither Gmail nor Samsung Email never get a flame from us. But this bug definitely is a black mark for Samsung.

Glad I have always used Gmail. I don't think Samsung Email was ever installed. I can't remember uninstalling the app.

Do people not know that you can set the Sync Schedule within the App? I have it set to sync every hour. haven't noticed any battery drain issues

It isnt any app, cache wipe in recovery mode solved it. Also the terrible overheating esp. with Auto is gone.

I have this problem with the Samsung Email application. The message "Synchronizing Email" is constantly appearing in the background. I was waiting to find the solution here in this video to resolve this. But I don't understand if there is a way to solve the problem. Please note that this happened about 1 month ago (it must have been an app update) on my Galaxy S24 Ultra. At first, this didn't happen. The question is: is it still not possible to solve the problem? The suggestion not to use Samsung's Email app is not a solution. The solution is to solve the problem that the app didn't have before. I apreciate any aditional help. Thanks.

Did you go into the Settings and Permissions and turn off everything not needed? When setting up my phone(s) I always turn off everything I feel does not need to be on including working/updating in the background. It's easy to do but you have to do it for each app. I also go to the PlayStore and turn off Automatic Updates.

Yes but I am using quad hd plus with 5g on and 120hz adaptive without these setting even I am also getting 11 hrs of screen on time with turning off these settings😄
