Thank you so much. This video was very helpful for me. My watch did not want to charge or come on. I cleaned the back, held the power button and put it on the charger; but still nothing. Thanks brother. I called up Samsung support and found the shop and all to deliver the gear fit to them. Then I saw your video, and the trick you have suggested, worked like a charm!! Saved me a lot of travel and time and money.. Thanks a ton bro!! To all others, If you are reading the comments to check, if it's really a genuine post.. It is working, it worked for me. 1- cleaned the back of the watch with a perfume since I didn't have a spirit cleaner using a ear cleaner bud. 2- cleaned the charger points with the same bud. -( may be not needed) 3- plugged the charger to my HP laptop and waited for 30 secs. It worked like a charm and my gear fit popped back to life.. Have done many CPR for patients, this is like a cpr for gear fit!!

Thx. It worked for me. Been trying to charge it for 3 months. Let the battery died. Regular charger and all others didn't worked. Cleaned the watch as per video, used the USB to charge, didn't work. Connected it to PC, it worked. I couldn't charge or turn the watch on before. Almost bought a new one. Thx a bunch

Thanks for the tip to charge from a computer USB outlet rather than a dedicated charger. Never would have guessed this approach but it worked for me too! Something to do with the USB data lines or amount of current (my computer USB outlets are low power) ... who knows? Anyway, thanks for helping me not spend money on a new watch!

5 years later and this still works. You are kind of awesome. Thanks for the fix. I was about to toss it out. Also, I used alcohol swab but make sure charger isn't plugged in and let it dry. Took a few power ups before it worked but it is rebooting and charging!

@@solhoyos8258 I tried like 4 - 5: times waited a while while it rested on the charger then 30 min later i tried again 4-5 times and it worked. Let it charge up to 6% or higher before u move it.

Thank you. The trick with the PC worked with my Samsung active 2. It didn't charge with the charger via power outlet. Only flash and showing 0% and then turned off again. The PC to 4% made the trick, now its also charging regular again.

This worked! I had a spare Gear Fit2 that was brand new. I had gotten two when my wife and I purchased phones 2 years ago. I used one daily until the band fell apart the other day. So I opened my brand new spare and I left it one the charger several different times for many hours and could not get it to turn on. I just plugged the charger into my computer, kept pressing the power button and kept pressing the watch against the charger and kept messing with it as the little white lightning bolt would occasionally flash on and then off. Just keep trying and pressing buttons and pressing it against the charger while it is plugged into a main USB on a computer, and finally it started to charge.

Wow thank you so much! I was plugging it into anything and everything and it wasn't until I did both the computer and your 'holding down the power button' thing that it worked. Holding the power button while using a regular USB charging port gave me nothing. I already got a replacement charging base, but I think I'll keep it so I don't have to take the original everywhere.

yeah, these Samsung gear devices can be a real pain when the battery dies. Glad to hear I could be of help.

Henry, on the original Samsung watch, it can with a charging cradle (CASE) and you will have to quick on that watch by holding the power the button as you lower it into the charging cradle, you want to do this on the first two tries, cheers
