Hi! I have two short questions. 1) can i change the hostname which is indicated at the top of a fax report? If yes, how? 2) can I copy a document on both sides... thank you in advance

Hi Geo, Thank you for submitting this question - we hope that you're having a nice Thursday evening. In response to your query, I can confirm the following: 1. You can change the machine ID which is what will be printed at the top of each fax you send. To do this press the following Press the menu button> system setup>machine setup>machine ID then change it using the keypad. 2. It is possible to scan several single sided documents and then copy them duplex, but unfortunately your device does not have a duplex scanner and so it is not possible to scan both sides in one pass and copy them as a duplex document. hello, i'm curious about the 4800 x 600 dpi print resolution. in your experience, is this better than 1200 x 1200 dpi which SL-M3875FW for example? thanks.

***** Thanks for your quick answer. I'm actually interested in printing on double matter polyester film. Print quality is essential for me, so it actually comes down to whether i would get more accurate shapes using a 4800x600 dpi resolution instead of 1200x1200 dpi. Thanks again for all your help!

can the paper trail be closed while printing? Apparently, there are Samsung models which force the paper tray be open when loaded with paper.

Hi hellochriis, thanks for getting in touch. This printer has a main tray and a multipurpose tray so when you print from the MP tray, the paper will go in the front flap and would remain open whilst printing. However, the main paper tray is a cassette type tray which is filled with paper and inserted into the machine and would remain closed during printing. I hope this helps Thanks The Printerbase Team

Hi There, There could be a variety of reasons as to why the paper is jamming in the machine, ranging from something as simple as incompatible paper, wrong media setting or something physically stuck in the machine blocking the paper path. I would check that your media is suitable (less than 220gsm) firstly and that you use the correct setting in the printer driver (ie plain, glossy, heavy etc) to suit the paper type. If you are still getting jams, I would refer to the clearing jams section in the user guide , page 99. If you have tried these things and still are experiencing jams, please give us a call to discuss further. Thanks, The Printerbase Team

Hi Melissa, Thanks for getting in touch. It is possible but this needs to be configured through the Samsung scan software first before being able to do it from the machine. This would need to be set up through the easy printer manager software (under the software section) available on the Samsung site and using the Scan to PC options here - www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/SL-M2885FW/SEE If you have any issues setting this up then we’d advise calling Samsung support directly. Hi, Samsung provided me with a pre-launch unit, which didn't work properly so we were limited on what we could show. Printerbase has another video of me demoing NFC, which did work. I think we did film some other parts showing around the machine but we possibly didn't get around to finishing the edits. Samsung Print has been sold to HP now so I wouldn't worry about it. :)

This machine is bad. There’s always have the paper jam whenever i try to print or copy something. There 10 papers which were stuck in the machine at one time.
