I am a cis man, but I face some of these same issues because of my voice, my posture etc. Even I felt confused about possibly having a genetic issue or something (genetic test came normal XY though, thankfully). The way society treats people who do not fit into regular rectangular boxes can be painful sometimes, I have been called "madam" many times even though I (believe that I) look like a normal guy. The phone is even worse, for obvious reasons, I had service denied because they "weren't convinced" they were talking to me, but to a woman instead, even though I made several requests to have on file that my voice is high and that I might sound a bit like a woman 😟 It took me 40 years to make peace with the fact that, no matter what I do, people will judge and believe they "know better" even when they're wrong. I am very glad to hear you're in peace with yourself as well 💖

My voice is super high and its usually the thing that outs me as not being a cis guy. Lots of people have suggested I do voice training. But ultimately I decided I don't want to have to consciously change myself in order to fit. The whole reason behind my transition is to be the true me. So to put on a voice that isn't natural to me seems counterproductive. But I completely get why it's important for many people to "pass" and if that works for them that's great.

The reason to transition is to become a male. Not "true you". It's to cure most of dysphoria lol.
@crazycat11663 жыл бұрын
@@myname.1602 I absolutely agree it is to treat dysphoria but I'm not transition to be someone else.. By the "true me" I mean that I will behave naturally and not put on an act to pass. I'm 10 months into hormone treatment now and my voice has dropped "naturally" as a result of testosterone. I'm 1000% more comfortable in myself and in social situations but at no point did I put on an act to fit the male stereotypes.

One lil interesting thing I've noticed while studying the mannerisms of the men in my life, men tend to walk with their hands in their pockets, while women swing their arms. This also seves to kind of hide your figure and your shoulders kinda seem wider too! So give it a go!

(I’m just going to vent a little here, probably not going to make much sense.) Right now I’m seriously considering whether or not I want to start identifying as male. Now I’ve been identifying as non binary for a little over two years, don’t remember exactly how long, but I’ve been going by He/They pronouns for a while. When I actually think about if I want my physical body to be biologically male, hell yeah I do. However, when I even think about medically transitioning to get masculine features, I feel deeply uncomfortable. I think that’s just mostly me being sensitive around the topic of genitalia and surgery in general, rather than me not wanting to transition though. But a part of me wishes I was just born a man rather than having to go through all this trouble and discomfort of changing my body if I want to become something that aligns to who I feel like I am. And it’s not like I don’t like femininity. Fuck, I love wearing makeup and painting my nails and shit, I just wish I could do that without people assuming I’m female because I do those things. I wanna be able to pass physically as a male while simultaneously wearing traditionally feminine things. Basically I wanna pass as a feminine man. Not to mention transitioning will be even more difficult, because my family still wont even use my they/them pronouns I’ve been going by for two years, and only a few months ago my dad started doing the bare minimum of using my preferred name. Now I have to tell them I want to go by he/him as well, not to mention how I want to start hormone therapy, which I have no idea how my dad will react to. And I’m still in school, and I have to worry about going into the men’s bathroom and risk potentially being assaulted or something, or going into the women’s bathroom and become dysphoric in there. I just have no idea, and I’m scared. Its already hard identifying as non binary, but I don’t want to keep living like this.
