"That Woman Named Mary" That woman named mary, she going to stay out all night long That woman named mary, she would go and stay out all night long Well, you know, she wouldn't come back to the house Until po'lightnin' and his blues was gone Know you got another man, mary That's why you treat me so unkind I know you got another man, mary That's why you treat me so unkind You know the blues gonna dwell with you I can't get these blues off of my mind Have you made you bed hard, baby Sleep in and call your bed ease Have you made you bed hard, baby Sleep in and call your bed ease You know the blues is just a funny feeling Yet people call it a mighty bad disease

Great description of his style.
@jayc25595 жыл бұрын
No doubt about it. He had his own unique sound and style, especially the tempo he carried. Difficult to match his sound and tempo. I say that because it's was his soul that was playing. Hopkins in my opinion is the best blue's player to have lived and is my favorite by far. He could care less about money. He had soul. R.I.P LIGHTING HOPKINS R.I.P.

No words could ever explain how great a song, and performance that was. I didn't know him but every time I listen I learn a little more. Anyone can do it, Just reach deep inside you. The best music lets go of all technical skill. It comes from somewhere else. Some say its within you some say it comes from somewhere else but channels through you. Just gotta feel it. Practicing scales and riffs doesnt make you a better creator they just aid the lay out process for what you already hear inside you.

My greatest mentor friend, and teacher. I miss Lightning and Joel Hopkins. They taught me my ABCs about how to take advantage of s guitar. And how to carry myself, thru this wicked world. With class, and distinction. God bless the honored dead. God bless their souls, eternally. They were the very very best. I miss them every day of my life.....!! 🙏.
