There are many places to get photos in Dubai Sam, just search and you will have fun their, don't sit in downtown, then said Dubai people do not like to get photos, We have Expo 2020, it is an empty place and free, you love drama😂BTW I like your content, so please do not lose people from around the world because of drama!!

It’s not drama, when you create videos and have people who listen to what you say and do there’s an element of responsibility, I think we can agree. This video is simply to highlight the rules and regulations in the UAE so people are aware! As many aren’t aware. There’s plenty of places to shoot and ways to shoot but not everyone knows the rules of some places so I have to highlight them. I’ve got some pretty awesome content coming up from around Dubai because it’s a very unique place to shoot with amazing culture, keep in mind titles of videos have to be catchy enough to get people to click the video in the first place. This video is more of an eye opener for those didn’t know ❤️

Thank you for this important information :) When i started watching your videos i was surprised how you were able to take photos in every spot of London and almost to every people. In my country (Spain) taking photos with some people very close or in one important part of the frame it’s not ilegal, but it is very frowned upon. If you do that, you should ask people if you can save the photo with that person in a part of the frame or if you can take photos to them I don’t know if you knew that, but if it isn’t the case, hope you find this comment helpful :) Thanks for the vídeo

Hi, i’m a street videographer who makes slowmo videos of people and then tries to sell it to them, obviously asking them permission before i do it. Imagine i’m recording someone and police would arrive and ask if i got permission, would it all be ok? How would i be able to proof that i got permission tho? Because you’re not allowed to record the consent before asking them consent.
@haruo785
@haruo785 Жыл бұрын
The only reason the police would arrive is if the person you are recording reported you. If you accidentally film some other people and don't realize it, they might be the one who call the police. Just be careful who you record and especially where you record it.

Great video Sam! I live in Germany and I absolutely HATE this law that they have. I'm not taking photos of people for the sake of it, I'm capturing something interesting, the way they're interacting with the world and it's a candid shot telling a visual story. Imagine if every country had this stupid law, we would barely have any photos of history. Most European countries are okay with street photography as long as the person is in Public and not private places (which is common sense really) but Germans love their rules and love to be ruled, so be it. I respect ppl's privacy but if you're out in public, you walk past atleast 300-500 ppl a day (depends) but the point is, a still image of you isn't suddenly gunna be the end of the world, especially if the intention isn't to make money or commercialize it, but to simply showcase it in an artistic way. As photographers/artists, we gotta have the right to express ourselves and showcase our work without feeling like we'll get in trouble with the fucking government.

I've been wanting to make this exact video, but for sure i could not have said it any better than you... I get asked to put my camera away at least once a week here in DBX. Did you need permission to photograph the Burj Khalifa and the mosque on route to Abu Dhabi?
@jamesjuatco
@jamesjuatco Жыл бұрын
Taking photos of iconic buildings in UAE are OK. But the problem is the location where you want to shoot. Some areas/parks don’t allow tripods, or you need to ask permission from park management to shoot. Anyway, if you get caught by authority, they will check first what you are doing, or ask to stop shooting, delete the photo, and leave the premises 😅. But some security personnel is kind, as long as no other people will be seen on your photo.

Ive lived in Dubai for 20 years, No you will not go to jail for photographing people by mistake. Its a crime if you are actually trying to take pics of people without their consent. Also, if you approach the locals respectfully, and explain you would like a pic with their traditional clothing, they most likely will oblige you. Stop spreading wrong info and fear just for clicks.

Not spreading fear. I’m making people aware and advising people to go and research the laws / rules where they’re going to Before going to avoid getting in problems.

The major problem there is that hundreds of indian guys are always taking photos and videos on their phones, I've spent 6 months in Dubai and I was sick of this, because every 100 meters there are dozens of these people pointing their cameras around. And what was driving me crazy is that nobody cares about you filming everything around with a phone, but as soon as you take out the camera and try to film yourself the security turns up from nowhere and agressively force you to put your camera away (you cannot even explain smth to them because they don't speak english at all, they just repeat "not allowed!")

Been living in the Emirates for the past 5 years and I felt so repressed for not able to hold my camera in the streets. Photography has been such a taboo where people will think you're commercialising them, invading their privacy (eventhough you're not pointing your camera towards them) and even perverts). That's the reason why I have kept my camera in the sheets when I'm here and couldn't wait to do street photography when I'm abroad or back home. Don't get me wrong tho, the Emirates is still a great place to visit and thousands of undiscovered treasure awaits you

Good thing I know what street photography actually is 😊 as expected, portraits aren't accepted. Fine for me, because humans aren't worth my frame or focus.! Unless I'm taking photos of the wife of course. But I'm glad I know the difference between street photography and street portraits 😊
