What do you think about Samuele Ricci, Blues? Is he the ideal replacement for Rodri, or not quite? 🤔💭

The position is a critical one in the Guardiola system. And it requires a period of adjustment and settling in. Signing him in January and immediately expecting him to perform well in such a delicate and crucial role would be risky. I would consider him as a long term replacement for Rodri and Kovacic .... if no suitable player comes out of the ManCity academy that is.

What this video doesn’t show you is that the kid is so calm and elegant. It would be awesome to have him but now we have many DCMs so City should lose some in order for this to happen.

He seems like a good player, but personally I'd prefer Zubimendi. He is older & has more experience, he knows Rodri well due to the Spanish team & he has a £50 mill release clause.

@jereflechis4014 Nope & I wouldn't expect him to either! But they can't expect Rodri to play 70 games. Pep will Pep & create a brilliant double pivot with them both.

Looks like he has the basics,, still it takes time to adjust to the Guardiola system , especially in midfield. For the time being it would have to be Kovacic alone or accompanied by Stones or Gundo. Under the guidance of Pep Guardiola this Ricci guy would fit in.

He's good. But he's not what we're looking for. He's not dominant enough and his long range passing isn't there yet. The Italian league is great but it's not intense at all and he'll get man handled by our opponents. Zubimendi is the answer and every other signing will just be the second or third best option I'm afraid. If we sign him I hope the fanbase won't expect too much too soon. He'll need years to get anywhere Zubis level yet alone Rodri's. Sorry Ricci.

@LOWKEY-m7b Why? This isn't FC24. Give me a experienced and ambitious 23-27 years old who can dominate and help from the get go. That's what we need right now. Not some talent who needs 1-2-3-4 seasons to develope.
