Great showcase! Even as a new SAM I think the 7.05 iteration of the 2.14 rotation is very good for learning purposes since it teaches you a lot about meikyo acceleration and higanbana alignment from the get go compared to the 7.01 version.

1:30 There's a better way. Do Tendo, hold Kaeshi, MS + Gekko, apply Banana and then do Kaeshi. Cleaner and you don't lose any ticks of Banana. And then you drift Ikishoten for 15 seconds at 2:20 which is wild to me.

So smuggle second tsubame, use before burst tendo and burst starts at 14 seconds with 1 sen and hig should be ready a 1 second left

So I'm just learning SAM and I'm having a really hard time keeping up with the reset that's supposed to happen at the 6 minute burst and how that works. I'm looking at the infographic and watching the video and my mind isn't really keeping up. Is there a dumb mans version of this break down to try and wrap my head around??

I was looking for this also but then randomly stumbled on it when doing some explorer mode gpose dungeons. Its dungeon "The Stigma Dreamscape", in explorer mode, at the start you take the first jump pad then look behind and you're there.

I might be missing something but wouldn't it be better to hold the Tendo Tsuba at the first 1 min burst and reapply bana earlier? If you're in a comp with scholar/drg I would understand it since the autocrit moves scale better than bana in that situation but otherwise you're dropping a tick for no gain?

I believe you're supposed to accelerate getting that last sen with an earlier meikyo before going into the odd minute burst. You can see him do this in other odd minute bursts throughout the video so I'm just gonna say it's a simple mistake.
@LevelRedd
@LevelRedd 5 ай бұрын
@@TallZeratul it's not a mistake, the delay is purposeful as to set up a better 2 minute window (moving gyofu -> yukibana out of buffs in favour of moving gekko + smuggled tsubame in) and a cleaner 28gcd loop. in essence you want to either do this on the opener or the 1 min burst so that all subsequent burst windows line up this way

Is the higbana loss on the 1min inevitable? What if you just used your meikyo after you have 2 sen there, so it would be meikyo -> kasha -> double midare -> gekko -> reapply higan just as it wears off? Basically what you're doing in the 2min+ windows except start it at 1min.

can you move gekko+higabana before the first kaeshi setsugekka to get more dot time?

I think you only gain 1 gcd extra of dot time but that also misaligns your dot timer for your 1 minute burst and yoir 2 minute

why do you use the samurai gap closer in cool down phases when you can just build up to 25 kenki and spend on shinten?
@TyciGaming
@TyciGaming 5 ай бұрын
I'm not using it on cooldown, I'm using it to prep my kenki to enter a burst window with max gauge. This only becomes a problem if you're using 5 Gyotens between each burst window to which it would then be easier to just press two Shintens.
@raphu2272
@raphu2272 5 ай бұрын
Shinten and Gyoten are damage neutral. 25 Kenki for 250 potency (Shinten) is the same as 10 Kenki for 100 Potency (Gyoten). He does it so that he has 100 Kenki and dumps his gauge on the raid window and ends exactly at 0 Kenki, meaning he perfectly used his Kenki. Using Gyoten as filler to spend your gauge is free and not a loss, in that scenario. That's why we also use Gyoten in our opener, since raid buffs etc. will increase the dmg on it, making the Kenki spent on it a surplus, versus building up the gauge to a shinten and using that (which wouldn't be under raid buffs and thus a loss, over the long run)

Hello! I have a few questions because no matter how I think about it, I can't figure it out. Burst #1 and #2 make sense to me, burst #3 with the skip 2 gcd thing, makes sense to me to (2 minutes have passed so we gotta reallign ourselves) But then...Why are we doing the same sequence as burst #3 on burst #4? Only one minute has passed but we are still trying to "shift forward" by 2 gcds...I didn't really get this one. Then on burst #5, I see Yukikaze > Meikyo being done....Is this supposed to be the 6 minute extra Meikyo charge thing that we use to reset all our gcds back to 0? (Since we precast Meikyo at -15) And if so, why at minute 5 and not minute 6? Then on burst #6 I see the same sequence as burst #5 being done, which I also didn't get, I see Hakaze > Kaeshi > Midare > Yukikaze > Meikyo. I thought maybe it had something to do with the potion but all that stuff happens before the potion, so it can't be that. I can't figure it out. I see on burst #7, Kaeshi isn't smuggled into the burst. Is that so that we are 1 gcd earlier on the next burst? I was trying to think about these things that maybe it had something to do with raid allignment and such, but I just can't figure it out. I assume that these burst phase/rotations are correct and didn't have a mistake in them somewhere cuz I know Ty is a good samurai, but yeah, I just can't figure it out :[ Thanks in advance! And sorry for all the questions

Every 2 minute our single target rotation has two "extra" gcds from Keashi Setsugekka. In the odd minute window, those two gcds occupy the space leftby not having the two namikiri gcds but in the even minute window, since we use ogi namikiri, a "gcd debt" is made forcing you to use meikyo earlier and earlier to align yourself for burst. I have a full Samurai guide updated for 7.05 that goes into this in further detail on this so definitely check it out if you'd like: bit.ly/SAM-Guide

great but keep in mind that in savage for example, you rarely are able to keep that rotation as it is showcased, accelerating even more is the play there if downtime heavy (m3s, m4s)

I think you’re missing the point that “adhoc” Samurai rotation isn’t at all a static rotation. It’s rooted as an effort to cut yukikazes out of meikyos, in addition to pushing “into” a combo 1-2 GCDs (only as much as necessary) but using the fact that iaijutsu keeps the combo, and then you can gain the sen one gcd after. Last little “delay” trick use is as recent as patch 7.05 where now Kaeishi Setsugekka doesn’t drop when you executed any GCD. I haven’t tested this myself but only another move that grants that buff can overwrite it - I could be wrong and higanbana might overwrite it. There’s no iron clad rules of what to do when for any fight. But if you are “always” doing things that reduces clipping higanbana, meikyo mostly for getsu and ka sen gains, you’re going to be pushing entire GCD ahead of those who only use meikyo for all three sen, and just burn the kaeishi straight up. When you understand the approach for the rotation, you can spot where other choices could be made easily with no overall impact.

TYCI I have tried to fix this rotation pass 13:00 It never work Do you have a solution? I know fights rarely drag that far but Inherently this thing is not loopable beyond that. Our meikyo is 55/60, so 2 filler fix Every minute we drift 2. With the extra meikyo in beginning we can patch up around 8:30 with he prepull meikyo But pass that every 2 minute means we are being chased by unloopable hell If you know what I am saying…

My solution is around 13:00 The minute burst will look like meikyo -> use all 3 for midare, then use gyofu yuki to patch a bana But this wont work for the even minute coming up

this is a dummy rotation, assuming 100% uptime. Fights like M3S and M4S have a lot of melee downtime, so you'd need to adjust your rotation a lot depending on the situation. 2.14 currently is the highest DPS rotation samurai has, but 2.08 is the "classic" 60s loop now that we have 4 extra gcds per 2min
