Because a lot of Dubliners have figured out the Bushman so you're trying out new versions, here's an idea. Put your bushman costume on the mannequin, have your cameraman obviously filming, and see if you get any interesting reactions from folks expecting Bushman only to discover that it's Bushmannequin.

I'm Japanese, but thank you for using Japanese armor, but the direction of the sword is upside down. I wear it so that the warp of the sword faces down. Samurai pranks are interesting, please do it again.

Ah, does that mean that the cutting edge will be forwards when drawn by the opposite side hand? I see the Wikipedia Katana page shows a Samurai with the sword behind his back, with the warp facing upwards. Is that just for transport purposes, or can it be drawn from there if necessary?

How can you draw the sword that way? You will be drawing it downward, rather than up toward the enemy. The draw is normally the first strike against an opponent.

@@robskalas I'd suggest you watch this video on quickly drawing a katana, while he made it look very flashy, the principle is the same. With training it's a much faster draw that way than the blade facing downwards. tradition also plays a part. A samurai's most prized possession would be his blade, and having it upwards in the sheath steps gravity from wearing the blade down inside the sheath.
