Sometimes I feel like the only person on earth that prefers Wan Fu‘s big ass sword in SS1 than the stone pillar. I don’t think they are ever going to give him the sword back, which is a shame because it was awesome, and fighting with a the giant piece of rock just looks stupid

​Since it has been a long time since Samurai Shodown 2019 was released. If you were hired to direct a new entry in the series (which I'm going to guess, it's going to come out 20 - 30 years after this game)? Me personally, and please, be as respectful as possible. This is my opinion, not yours or SNK. Now that I got that off my chest, here's what I would do: 1. Keep the entire roster excluding the guest fighters (except for the Last Blade character Hibiki who is the only one who returns) from this game but this time include more original fighters both iconic and obscure such as Gen-An, Kusaregedo (yes, I love that Hungry Ghost. So don't you dare bitch or you're going to piss me off!), Ocha-Maro, Rasetsumaru, Sieger, Nicotine, Rera, Mizuki, Gaoh, and Zankuro. Having this much variety will not just please its default fanbase but also invite more newcomers into the series, which was something the 2019 reboot never did. 2. Return the fatalities from Samurai Shodown V Special. 3. All the stages will have their own unique music as opposed to having the 2nd players characters theme playing in every stage. 4. Keep arcade mode with the final boss and endings. 5. Improved rollback netcode 6. ABSOLUTELY NO CRAPPY ONLINE MULTIPLAYER GAME OR PHONE GAME GUEST FIGHTERS PLEASE LIKE THE WARDEN, GONGSUN LI, OR ANYBODY FROM CALL OF DUTY, FORTNITE, OR RAID SHADOW LEGENDS!!! Instead, actual good guest fighters such as Afro Samurai, Guts (Beserk), Dante (Devil May Cry), Lady Snowblood, D (Vampire Hunter D), Mizu (Blue Eye Samurai), Conan the Barbarian, Red Sonja, Rayne (Bloodrayne), Chainsaw Man, Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden/Dead or Alive), Leo (Red Earth/Warzard), Kratos (God of War - Playstation exclusive), Eve (Stellar Blade - Playstation exclusive), Spinal (Killer Instinct - Nintendo & XBOX exclusive), Bayonetta (Nintendo exclusive), General Ramm (Gears Of War- XBOX exclusive), Hsien-Ko or Bashimon (Darkstalkers), and Nightmare, Yoshimitsu, Mitsurugi, or Taki (Soul Calibur). 7. Shorter loading screens 8. Huge roster and more content on the disc to make up its $60.00 price tag. 9. Alternate costumes for the playable fighters. 10. Allow both players to play multiplayer mode anytime they want as opposed to having the 2nd player sign in every time before the game even starts (that's really annoying with this game and something that wasn't an issue in the older games). 11. Bring back the announcer from Samurai Shodown V Special.

Also, it's obviously subjective on wether you like guest characters, but give this game some credit, at least all of the guest characters fit the style and esthetic the series is known for, which not every fighting game can have say, so it has that going for it
