I would like this same team to translate Rurouni Kenshin RPG on PS1 because it kind of reminds me of this. And then also translate King of Fighters Kyo for PS1 (that one only got a Spanish fan translation years ago) As well as th Rival Schools 2 simulation disc which was a lengthy story mode. And then Super Tokusatsu Taisen for PS1 which was and RPG featuring a lot of Japanese live action superheroes. And then maybe Brave Wars 1&2 on PS2 which were srpgs based on the whole 90's run of various Mecha anime shows made by Sunrise Animation. And legend of Dynamic: Goshouden for GBA which waan RPG featuring characters from Go Nagai's library of manga work (Mazinger Z, Cutey Honey Devilman, Getter Robo, Kekko Kamen, Violence Jack, etc) Also, The Quiz of Fighters arcade game And lastly, SEGAGAGA RPG for Dreamcast

I played the original one playstation. This is not only a great translation, but also a great hack as well. In this patch, the characters fully recover the health and mana when leveling up, which cuts the back-and-forth trips between town and dungeons altogether. Most confusing UI elements are given instead a graphical icon and it’s super clear now what everything is. The one minor complaint I have is that the character and special names take a very slight liberties and don’t 100% match the original-Tokihime is Lady Toki, Gogetsuzan is Gale Cresent Moon Slash etc.

We got Samurai Shodown RPG and Tengai Makyou 1 within weeks of each other? What a good time for oldschool RPG fans. Seeing that Visions of Mana was announced, I'm positive the next year is going to be great for both official and unofficial releases too.

Samurai Showdown RPG really caught me off guard upon discovering it for the first time - just like that Nakoruru VN for Dreamcast. I initially thought this series was *_just_* fighting games. I don't know anything about Tengai Makyou (never even heard of it as well), but it looks promising.

@@Dorian_Scott TM was the very first CD-ROM (J)RPG, in 1989 - I don't think anything else came out in the West before it. Of course, it only came out in Japan, so this isn't such a well-known fact as you'd think. Actually, the entire series is basically Japan exclusive. I hope we get the Saturn game, Tengai Makyou Apocalypse at some point, as it takes place in a wacky version of the US, with all the stereotypes you can imagine.

I'm not familiar with Tengai Makyou, I'll have to check that out. The only one I played was Apocalypse IV on the Saturn. It was completely bizarre but I loved it and played the shit out of it.

As someone who has only ever played the original "Samurai Shodown" and believes that it is deserving of a next-gen console resurgence, I legitimately didn't know that it was (apparently) popular enough to spawn sequels, a spinoff visual novel for the Sega Dreamcast and *_now_* a JRPG. I *_will_* commend the people responsible for translating the latter two. If not for those translations, I would still only see this franchise as just a couple fighting games.

Samurai Shodown already had a Next Gen resurgence back in 2019-2021. It was released on PS4, Xbox1, Switch & Steam. SamSho was always one of the more popular SNK games. I'd say it's about 3rd most popular after King of Fighters & Metal Slug.

After I beat the boss at 5:05:31, the characters walk a little and then Yuko wanders off by himself, looking for the perfect flower, without anyone else. Reaches an apple tree. Then some demon lady comes out and forces you to live with her forever. You fight her (alone), but she destroys me and there's no chance to win. What's going on? I'm stuck!

Went back to my save and leveled up from 32 to 45. Then she was easy to beat.

How in gods name do I get this running on a handheld emulator like an anbernic rg350? I’ve tried fbalpha and neo4all with no luck. The copy I have is a .cue file and a bunch of .bin files.. I had moderate luck with neo4all but the game just loads to a white screen.. It’s cool that it works in retroarch on a PC and all but it would be much more appealing if I could run it on a handheld emulator.

Probably not, but you could just burn it to a CDR. The system can play copied discs.

FINALLY I dont even understand the instruction to apply this patch so I can't even imagine the technical dificulties @MoriyaMug, @combustocrat, @Justin Gibbins @Pennywise @smkdan @khalismur @Video Game Esoterica @Chris @Lazarus and probably others had to overcome to come up with this masterpiece of a translated game. May Jesus bless u all, and u guys thank the Lord for giving u such gifts, and endurance. Heard even some1 commenting on a platform I can't remember that this game is/was cursed lol. well, being a christian I do not doubt it, speacially this game deals with some old japanese lore, and yes, all those Iokais, Yokais, monsters, apparitions, some of these "myths" indeed happened guys, and the jews fought many of them to get their promised land, Israel. Now gotta find a YT channel who guides me into patching this game on Neo Geo or whatever other system. May JESUS bless u all, too bad these companies never listen to us, they could have ezly translated it and even made a profit
