This is my favorite Japanese series of all time! Thank you for your time and effort for putting this together for us. I love the jidaigeki movies of Japan. I wish you could post the Sleepy Eyes of Death series starring Ichikawa Raizo. But, thank you for what you do!

Before this episode I thought Hanzo and Osono were mainly involved in protecting Shogun Yoshimune and gathering intelligence for him, but actually they also did administrative paperwork (5:44, and again 13:18). Maybe Shogun Yoshimune anticipated that Gorozoaemon will become senile due to old age, and started to ease Hanzo and Osono into some of his workload?

That’s great to hear! I saw the series on another streaming site and it had another actor playing the shogun instead of Ken. It just wasn’t the same so I’m glad he will be in all the episodes. Also, I hope the Megumi boss and Hanzo and Osano actors remain.

Abarenbo Shogun for season 1 had more than 200+ series but its was stopped..as i said before this drama had 800+ including special series and take more than 30 year to finish it..and samuraininja can't do it although they received many comment and new subscribers because of this famous drama..as subscribers we need find another alternative to watch Abarenbo Shogun.. samuraininja already do the best they can to entertain us wright?...now i really miss all theme music, fighting, love,sad, enjoying, funny, hunger for power..Osono❤❤❤(Yoko Natsuki) the most beautiful women..i will miss that...my last comment for Abarenbo Yoshimune Shogun...thank you samuraininja.

Unfortunately, his son was more or less incompetent. Yoshimune resigned, but still exercised the power of the shogunate, a typical Japanese thing.

Thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 of this series SvN, and looking forward to more while still able to watch them all . . . Just wondering a few things before we might finally get to the long run of this though - just in case I don't make it? . . . 1) Does anyone know if Shin ever does get married in it before it ends? - . . . .2) Will anyone else except for the Boss in Megumi ever find out that he is actually the Shogun before the end? Or will all the characters playing Megumi right now, have left the show by then - or will they never know anyway? - . . . 3) Will the executioner he took on ever show up again to aid him - (His name started with a Y - but it's been so long since he was in it now I've forgotten it!) ? . . . Another series you started off with only an Ep 1 - The Retired Samurai - had Toshiro Mifune as an older man almost 3 months ago now - Could you possibly manage to show the remaining 4 episodes of it just to finish it off for us - ( I think it only had 5 of them)? - as that was also an enjoyable start to an unknown series to me . . . I know that the Old Man has already tried it once with him, and he kept away from them all. However to keep his lineage going for further Shogun's in his line he would be expected to produce some offspring to do so . . . (I'm only hoping that I don't kick the bucket before it happens in say ep 800+ on it though - lol . . .)

@@anoldfogeysfun, Recently, I could follow on KZbin the episodes of others seasons in Japanese (not all of them), and there were some love stories, but the end was always sad. In the seasons 8, something happened, but I haven’t got this episode, anyway, this series is not made according to actual history. The real Yoshimune had four sons. We must be patient to get all of episodes and maintain good health!
