@SamWebster , is there a resource that you would point me to if I wanted to learn more about the capacity of the urinary bladder in adult humans? In all my searches so far, I've kept running into three things: (1) statements of the volume of typical voids (typical voids aren't the same as bladder capacity); (2) case-studies of bladders containing pathologically huge amounts of urine (e.g., 5 liters, 10 liters); and (3) statements of typical or average bladder capacity that don't exceed 700 milliliters (comparison: telling me the _average height_ of men doesn't tell me the _normal range of heights_ for men-e.g., you can be this short without being a dwarf, this tall without being a giant)). What I want to find: - a more nuanced idea of the range of normal bladder capacity in adults (such as a bell-curve) - some idea of what bladder capacity is so far from normal that it should be considered a problem (is 1 liter too much? 1.3? 1.5? 2 liters?). By "capacity" here, I mean the bladder is holding that volume at one time, perhaps even comfortably. Can you help me? In trying to help myself, I keep coming up empty-handed.

Help...On the first day of Covid lock down I was in the ER for worst back pain of my life. They see blood in my urine, think stone but CT shows nothing. Then a large muscle tissue came out in my urine, pain improved. I have had to live five weeks with this blood. On the 27th they will scope my blader. Do I have time? Could too much time have passed to stop this if cancer?

And the female through the hormonal loss from menopause means the urethra dries out and becomes even more prone to UTI's. (Take replacement hormone therapy. I listened to an English professor and he said the cancer risk is minimal. Barely above background. Also as I hadn't realised once, that the male urethra is narrower than the females. Is this because we're all made out with variance of the same stuff; given that the males have it longer, that the same amount of cells making up the urethra have to go further, therefore the cost is a narrower urethra for the male? 😢. (I have prostate and wee problems. Hate having to get up during the night! End up lacking sleep. -It's all downhill from here, lol.)

Can you redo this video using a female model, as women are far more often to experience leakage, anterior prolapse, address the point that after a women give birth she should switch to a urogynocologist and pelvic floor therapist because they specialize in pelvic floor prolapses. This is a very very male based, old school male dominated medicine view. Anatomy professors please utilize the anatomy of the bladder to talk about the pelvic floor as a whole in retaliation to female pelvic organ prolapses. Normally a woman has to see two male doctors a urologist and a gastroenterologist for a pelvic floor prolapses. Then she has to see a obgyn, female, whose priority is the baby (think liability and legal issues). So who puts a non pregnant female - a mother recovering from birth? No one. Also straining do to severe constipation - rectocele combined with an anterior prolapse.
