I have been using the manual version of this lens with my a6400 for a while, and it's one of my favorite lenses, for sure. Great image quality, lots of character, it's just a great creative tool. And I find myself using manual focus most of the time in my filmmaking anyway, so the AF isn't that important to me. Great review, cool channel, keep up the great work.

Hi Rock WILK, thanks for stopping by 🙌🏼☺️ and yes, I fell in love with the manual one a few years back on the Fuji system. Appreciate the support and encouragement my friend 🥳

My Samyang 12mm f2 just arrived yesterday. I'm looking forward to trying it out with my A6000. Hopefully, my images turn out half as beautiful as yours!

Great to hear that! Better yet, you can go and take even better photos my friend 🎉 enjoy the lens!

which sony camera you test up with this Samyang 12mm AF ? i heard some youtuber saying the AF focus in video mode is pouching or hunting in video . not sure is firmware update?
@AmirulNoorazmi Жыл бұрын
I used my Sony A7R4A at that time during testing :) I think the latest lenses work more seamlessly(better) with the newer AF systems in newer bodies. But updating to the latest firmware does help alot. And the support we get here in Malaysia with Samyang products is great, with free firmware updates for local sets.

Do you think this lens is better that sigma 16mm 1.4 ? I'm kinda between the two 🤔 is almost the same price and I can only buy one. What's your advise?
@AmirulNoorazmi2 жыл бұрын
Hi Diogo, thanks for dropping by a comment ☺️ the Sigma 16f1.4 is definitely a great lens. Between the two it would depend on what you will be shooting. If you are planning to shoot interiors or a lot of landscapes and those ultrawide astrophotography shots then the Samyang 12mm f2 will give you that, as for the 16mm f1.4 it will be abit too tight for interior work but abit more versatile for environmental portraits, landscapes, street as well ☺️

@@AmirulNoorazmi hey! Thank you very much for your answer 🙏 In my case it's more to shoot cars (photo and video) and also for normal social media photos. I only have my kit lens sony 16-50mm and I bought the Sony 35mm f1.8.

I think the 16f1.4 + 35f1.8 combo is just nice and more versatile for what you are shooting ☺️

I need an ultra wide angle lens for indoor Real Estate videography with Sony ZV-E10 camera, what do suggest which lens is wider and a good choice for my work, Tamron 11-20mm or Samyang 12mm, Tamron is more expensive in my country but if it's a better than I'll manage please advise ?
@AmirulNoorazmi2 жыл бұрын
Hi Masood, thanks for the question and dropping by 😊 as for real estate videography, I would go for versatility first. So between the Samyang 12mm f2 and Tamron 11-20f2.8, I would go for the zoom option if it is going to be my one and only lens. It is expensive in Malaysia too, almost twice the price of the Samyang. But then you are getting almost 2 different lenses with the Tamron. Ultimately it'll go down to your budget Masood ☺️

Hi, beli atau pinjam lens itu bro? Why not the 18mm samyang 2.8 for your fullframe sony?
@AmirulNoorazmi3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nelson, thanks for stopping by my little channel 😊 the lens was loaned to me from Futuromic to test. And yes i had the 18mm f2.8 before for my A7iii. But since i sold my a6400 i had no apsc body to test it with. So i used my A7R4A to test it in apsc mode at 26mp. Both definitely capable lens, but the newer 12mm f2 has better built and weather sealing than the 18mm f2.8 physically. For fullframe bodies i would definitely recommend the 18mm f2.8, as for apsc the 12mm f2 😊
