Great job mentioning the Riverwalk being 15 miles long, most tourist and even locals think it’s just that tiny strip of bars and restaurants. For that reason many locals tend to avoid it but If you walk further away you will find many walking trails, surrounded by trees and nature.

I wish I would've had the time to go bike riding on those trails, especially down to the missions. Thanks so much for your comment! I appreciate it!!

The downtown portion of the Riverwalk that is lined with hotels, dining, bars, theatres is about 5 miles long, but it does continue into historic neighborhoods like King William, Lone Star and the Southtown Arts district, and other entertainment districs like the beautiful Pearl District and Museum Reach north of the central river loop. The Riverwalk continues further towards Brackenridge Park and the San Antonio Zoo. The southern side of the Riverwalk towards the Mission Reach Unesco World heritage site is more Park like. This video looks like it was taken at a more quiet part of the day, the Riverwalk is usually very crowded day and night.

The golden girls planned a girls trip by train to San Antonio, not realizing it was spring break. Staying at the Menger, we found the city to be exciting, vibrant and so much fun. The streets were packed at night but the young people and everyone were very respectful and well behaved. It's a beautiful city oozing history and very well kept. The spirit of the Alamo is preserved. We loved our time there.

I’m taking my girlfriend to meet my home town and planning the trip. She has not even seen any part of Texas besides where I currently live and just for a weekend. Great question! I really didn't investigate parking- however, I will tell you I expect the price for parking to be very expensive. Most hotels in the downtown area charge ~$50/day to park, so we chose to Uber from the airport and we walked everywhere we went.

I am not 100% sure it is fully up to code for the entire loop, but I believe it is accessible, although not ideal since it can get crowded and some areas have a small cobblestone like path, rather than smooth concrete. Some areas will be easier than others.
