Outdoor domestic cats are a proven threat to global biodiversity. If cats are to be outside it’s best they’re fixed from breeding, or they belong indoors. Cats are awesome but that’s the truth.

I’ve lived in SA my whole life, it has crime like any large city but the people are nice and help each other when the need arises. Doesn’t matter what side of town you’re from. They have torn down a lot of the projects, or “courts” we call them. Like the Victoria Courts that were downtown & the Alazan-Apache courts that were just west of downtown off Guadalupe St. I’m glad you came through. Thank you.

Growing up in the southside and southwest of San Antonio, shout out to the creek, it was really ghetto and there was crime everywhere but lots of people just wanted better for the city and wanted to do anything they could to help each other out, the projects were pretty rough and obviousley to this day they still look rough but that's really the whole city, I will always represent the 210 and have love for this city because it is truly amazing and beautiful and the authentic food is the best part about it, viva san anto🇲🇽✊🏽

My condolences . I'm from the hood as well . Didn't know that story. When I was at Rhodes middle school a classmates was murdered. Her name is Rachel Gutierrez. Her sister and her lived in the projects across the street from Rhodes middle school. Google her name... you'll find a copy of the court document and you'll read the horrifying event that took place there on one summer night i believe. Her brother in law was the murderer and was executed by lethal injection. But, the beautiful young girl and her sister had a horrible death. We were in school when they told us the news. Some students went to the funeral. I didn't want to go I wanted to remember her as the beautiful girl she was. I was in 7th grade, she was in 8th grade. God bless you always. Peace and respect Rip Rachel Gutierrez gone but not forgotten.

I’m from AZ, lived in Vegas 10 yrs, SW MI, and San Antonio for 8 months. The thing I liked about Texas was the people. Yeah they def get with it and nothin soft about em, but day to day, being around folks, people was always generally easy to get along with and polite, all the races had that about them in TX, I dig it. The west coast and Midwest ppl are just rude for no reason and always aggressive, not really in an intimidating way but in an annoying way. But I do love my AZ landscapes.

I did notice the NE side going down hill, nothing but pawn shops and check cashing places. So much for all that uplifting future visions. As a kid down town was eerie and abandon with old poor people staring out the open windows in the 60's.

I grew up on the NE side by like perrin beitel and 410. I don't live there anymore but everytime I drive by that area I see more and more homeless people and as you said, plenty of pawns shops. A lot of the restaurants on that side of town I noticed are closed probably from the pandemic. like there was this long time one Golden Phoenix been there since I was a kid in the 90s. now permanently gone,,.

There is another on O-Conner by that crappy bar, put a camera on that place and you'll see some action by the looks of the parking lot a dawn. I was there multiple times just before all this mess moping-up business. I would love to go to Luby's about right now, I live almost to Canada straight North from there with zero good places to eat. Up here they would try deep frying burgers, they do it with cheese and pickles, strange people them Yoopers. There is actually a three to four year waiting list to get into these housing (section 8)projects. People want these because it's practically free and they pay little to nothing for these. They have to show proof they have low income, family size, not supposed to have a criminal record 🤔. Other apartment complexes (varies)around town take section 8 (low income housing) but they seem more strict in who they take in and charge a little more than the projects/courts would.

I wonder why poor neighborhoods so often have narrow-ass streets. Here in San Antonio housing projects are commonly called "courts." Some were razed long ago. I recognized Alazan-Apache Courts and San Juan Homes among the others here. The driver in this video ran stop signs and sped throughout the video. Was the driver scared to stop the vehicle for a bit? That driver is lucky no cop saw these traffic violations or that driver would have had to stop longer than a bit. I wish the driver had captured the signs identifying the courts or stilled the vehicle long enough for us to see all the street signs.

It actually looked like he went by the Cassiano's( Cassiano Homes) and the Lincoln Courts. The Cassiano's have those picture ( murals) on the side. The former San Juan homes used to have the same murals when they were considered solely public housing. Today as you probably now the San Juan's have been completely changed. They are low income with some mixed( market rate priced apts). I actually live in the Alazans part. I am grateful for my own apt but I am praying for the day I can get into an apt that has central air. Right now I have a small window unit for a open efficiency apt. The ventilation does not allow my apt to cool enough. You pretty much have to sit right in front of the window unit.

@darrenstansbury4433 3 жыл бұрын
@@Veronica.MedellinTX I have lived in a place without central heat and air and insulation. So, I can relate. The outlets in the apartment I lived in for 9 years needed modifying to allow space heaters to plug into them. Running a space heater while it's plugged into an extension cord or power strip can cause a fire. So, I went without space heaters during the cold weather and layered up in bed and in the living room, where I would see vapor when exhaling. The apartment was half of a home that had been converted into a duplex with a rear apartment that was originally the maids quarters. The apartment home was in the downtown area Five Points neighborhood, on a street across the underside of the I-35 N overpass from Fox Tech. I lived on the street alongside the royal blue Finesilver building that's visible from near the I-10 E/I-35 N junction. The home was built, I believe, in the 1920s. Here's an article about Five Points: sanantonioreport.org/where-i-live-five-points/
