Ok... For our Anglo-Saxon friends in their architecturally perfect cities and with tremendous visual asepsis ... San Cristobal de las Casas is a living town, which is writing its history daily. Art, coffee, food, history and the forest they coexist every second in everything that is there ...

don't forget the starbucks that opened since november though. even though they have not come back from the earthquake in september 2017 and the main square has turned into a tent city more than once in the last year. There's a definite living gap there that has massively widened in the last year.

Thank you so much!! It's so AMAZING to see how she is a natural born adventurer like her mom, happy as a clam in busses and planes and walking in the woods is her new favorite passtime. And rediscovering the world as a duo after all these years solo traveling, is a WONDERFUL gift. We learned that 10-14 days is our threshhold right now. Lol. So we'll see what happens next.

Great idea! It's WONDERFUL to travel with chldren especially their age. My advice is always to start slow, small, and close to home. Take a few days and go camping near your home. A road trip in your country/province/state etc. As you build up your confidence keep going.

Thanks for this lovely video. Also thanks for showing that as visitors, we can do more than bitch about garbage. I think it is powerful that you show the two of you picking up garbage. This sends a great message, especially engaging kids in the process. I'm guilty of walking by garbage but I can tell everyone that when I do stop to pick something up, it just feels like the right thing to do. Can't wait to see more of this trip.

I felt a bit responsible. the signs to pick up garbage are the ONLY ones in English. which means it's my people who are doing it. Just wanted to apologize on behalf of english speaking tourists. Also, Luna loves to pick up garbage with me. She gets a bit intense and I have to tell her we just do a bit here and there, no need to become full on garbage men. just leaving it a bit better than we found it. Similarly we do the dishes in the sink in shared kitchens along with ours too. I know not eveyrone does it and sometimes I walk by too, but I like to think that if everyone picked up one piece or did one extra dish then the world would feel lighter all around . I actually learned this is Japan in the early 2000s - people wipe the sink for the next erson in public bathrooms and therefore the bathroom is always spotless

the weatehr is the exact same all year. 22-23 high in the day (like teeshirt and jeans) but strangely like 10 in the shade. at night it fluctuates - half the year it's 10-15 at night, december and jan 0-5 and then feb-march 5-10. i assure you - there are not heaters or insulation so whatever it is outside, it's that inside. september will be rainy but not monsoon. afternoon evening rain. 10-15 at night.
