Commonlyl on Brush Trucks that sit higher up then a normal Apparatus would, the headlights are relocated so that they shine properly onto the roadway, and also so that they do not blind oncommoning traffic as they would be projecting directly into the front windshield.

Saw on that first truck, they removed the headlights from the original location and reinstalled them in the bumper of the truck, may I ask why?, and when they do shows like this showing of their great looking trucks, they must have other engines or whatever covering the stations where thes are from right? Turned off all my lights in my room when you showed the red Lightbar flash and boy did it sure light up my room...LOL

Those boards are rescue boards, just a bit of insight, The Lifeguard Service in San Diego is under the umbrella of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, so that's probably why this was included at the fire expo here.
