Video Restoration Process:
✔ FPS boosted to 60 frames per second
✔ Image resolution boosted up to HD
✔ Improved video sharpness and brightness
✔ Colorized only for the ambiance (not historically accurate)
✔added sound only for the ambiance
✔restoration:(stabilisation,denoise,cleand,deblur)
Please, be aware that colorization colors are not real and fake, colorization was made only for the ambiance and do not represent real historical data.

Thank you for doing this. This is the valley in which I grew up. I'm sorry to say that most, if not all, of those trees are gone. It is all suburbs and strip malls now. This video predates me by a couple of decades, so I never saw Devonshire Street (not Blvd) like this. There are still wonderful nooks and crannies of the SFV, and it is my "hometown" so it's not all bad. I'm sad about the trees, though.

Lived in Van Nuys in '63. Devonshire was somewhat north so don't know that street well but I have to assume that all those beautiful trees were cut down in the name of progress. It reminds me of Simi Valley in the 60s. There was a similar street lined with cypress trees that went for miles.

Back then my mom and stepdad would put my sister and me into the back seat of their big old Packard and drive from our home in Santa Monica or our beach cottage near Big Rock in Malibu and take either Topanga Canyon Road or Malibu Canyon Road over to the valley. They'd pack a picnic lunch that we'd have in some orchard then fill the trunk with boxes and bushel baskets full of oranges, grapefruit, and vegetables to take home. Sometimes we'd visit walnut growers. But we'd always return with boxes and baskets full of oranges to juice at home. Good memories to have.

My guess was it looked like Devonshire before I looked at the description. Heading westbound possibly to the major movie ranches, most particularly Iverson Ranch. Home of thousands upon thousands of film productions. Westerns and all genres. Frequented by Gene Autry, Roy Rodgers, John Wayne, well every star of the day. Many of whom owed property and ranches in Chatworth and Northridge vicinity.

Looks like the western SFV. I remember when much of it west of Reseda still looked like that. The long rows of trees, many of them eucalyptus, were planted as wind breaks, Dust storms were a frequent occurrence when the Valley was still largely agricultural.

Besides the strong winds the sf valley also had heavy flooding during the rainy season in Jan, Feb before they built the reservoirs. I moved into the west valley in the early 1980s with my family straight from Brooklyn NY. As a young kid I saw just a glimpse of acres of orange groves & lots of trees before developers came along & ripped them up & built the ugliest looking condos you ever saw. I felt sad about it then. Amazed to see the landscape that was in all its glory! Thank you 🙏🏼 for this.

Not Really. After WWII it started the Most Productive times in this country, but still not quite as hectic as today, with drug problems and people divided against each other after Trump's insurrection stunt.

@@lizamelendez3095 Dear Liza: Perhaps migrant workers were having a hard time, like they ALWAYS Have Been Exploited in California, And how Black folks have Continually Been Suppressed in this country too. But back east here in Pennsylvania after the war, things were BOOMING and a building craze was going on. With returning war veterans and A Lot of employed folks also moving into New Homes and having kids in a secure family environment. That's why they called us Baby Boomers. It's Sad To Hear that you and perhaps your family weren't able to have that same opportunity and outlook back then.
