If Ben isn’t optimistic about the Giants potential this season, you know we’re in trouble.

I dont know if I'm right, but this episode seems like you're trying to have your cake and eat it too. Saying the Giants haven't done anything to push themselves into contention for a playoff spot, which i agree, but then you mention players, like Bergman and Alonso that have qualifying offers attached and the downfall of what that brings. Then talk about pitchers, but then quickly rebuttal yourself by stating it would block out one or more of our younger pitchers. It's exhausting bro.

Talking about the same thing for three months straight will do that to you😅

We might need to lower our expectations as fans. They’re not making the playoffs this year, or for the foreseeable future. Let’s just enjoy the few decent players we have (Adames, JHL, Chapman) and appreciate the great game of baseball.

Not sure what magic move they are supposed to make. Remaining FAs aren’t worth punting the draft for

Based on Larry Baer’s rhetoric the other day on 95.7 the game, it seems unlikely they’ll sign anyone. Also seems as if they’re banking on a miracle to happen. It’s delusional to think this team will make any noise in the postseason, let alone make it to the postseason.

I was actually hoping very much that the Giants might sign Kim. I like his defense as well as the speed. The fact that he's a good buddy of our center fielder Lee. I thought his presence might make the guy more comfortable.
@tloz92Күн бұрын
@@lynnbyrd9819 He’s a really solid player. Would’ve loved to seen him in a Giants uniform, even with him missing the start of the year.

Joey Lucchesi seems worrisome - his K/9 dropped every single year, and his BB/9 has generally increased

My advice to Buster and Zach, which I am sure they will listen to and agree to - forget Flaherty and sign Bregman. They can play Fitzie at first and in the outfield. He has not proven himself as a hitter, nor is he great on defense. He's promising. Alex and Adames are both fine players and spark plugs, and Chapman is a leader-type. Yaz is underrated, YHL may turn out to to be a great slap-hitter. His defense will be swell. Ramos is not going to hit 300 or play great defense, but he will be just fine at .260 with 25 homers and 75 RBIs. Pitch the young pitchers. It's a freaking game....

How is this shocking to any of us. They should have gone after Hye-Seong Kim before letting him go to the Deferrers. They’ve done nothing to bolster their bullpen. They’re farm system is mid at best with all their eggs in on Eldridge. This team also lacks depth, again something the Deferrers have in spades over them.

The Giants continue to be absolutely stuck in the mud as a franchise. They thought the Willy Adames overpay - ahem, signing - was gonna usher in some kind of new era. Nope! Same old direction-less, identity-less, PLAYOFFS-LESS Giants. Haha! The Giants are absolutely rudderless and have NO IDEA WHO THEY ARE, WHAT THEY'RE TRYING TO BE, AND WHERE THEY'RE TRYING TO GO.

I can't wait for Giants fans to figure out CRAPmans contract was a HUGE mistake...6/151 no trade for a guy that can't hit over .250 or get over 80 RBI's and hit .230 with RISP ...and STRUK OUT 4 seasons more than Dave Kingman EVER DID

Well, let me educate you because you’re losing it a little bit on this last podcast we have in Leftfield an all-star last year. He is one of our young guys that we want to give a chance to .and we want to succeed of course I consider Ramos a good outfield. We have Lee in centerfield. He is over average and considered a good player for centerfield. We have yaz in right . Yaz is an excellent defensive player. Excellent he is excellent running the bases. He is smart baseball sense he’s good for 15- 17 Home runs a year .he has a decent on base percentage. He’s a good player, not a superstar, but he’s a good player nobody to balk at. Then we have a third baseman that’s a gold Glover almost hit 30 home runs. What do you consider our third baseman ? then we have our shortstop we just signed. That’s above average capable hitting 30 home runs then we have listen closely a rookie that we’ve brought up in our system that performed really good for the amount of at bats he got Last year of course we’re gonna use him at second base of course second base is a easier position than shortstop I would consider that a really good infield we have Lamont at first he’s pretty good on his defense. He had a down year last year because of injury .before that he was capable of 15 or so home runs a year and a good on base percentage actually a great on base percentage Then we have Wilmer platooning with him . Wilmer was injured last year the year before he was like the best batter on our team ! at 20 home runs super clutch. Are you losing your whole idea in baseball intelligence? Then we have a bunch of young pitching talent ! I mean, endless not proven because people aren’t proven unless they’ve been in the big leagues for several years and prove themselves, but this is how it starts. We have a good pitching staff with our veterans and our rookies and our closers. the Giants do not have a shitty team or as you say a team that can’t compete ? Huh I’m sorry, my friend but you’re caving into all these people that think you need superstars on the team to go somewhere, you’re kind of talking out of your butt right now. Did the Giants have endless superstars when they won all the World Series champions? No they had guys that had good or career seasons stand out seasons and that’s what got us there . I’m losing faith in your podcast the way you’re talking acting like the Giants have some shitty team and why would we get? Kim from the Padres he was injured last year he’s probably gonna start off slow. Fitzgerald is our rookie we want to get bats in. He is a good infield. Their second should be no problem for him. Fitzgerald is our fastest guy on our team. Why the heck would we pay money for Kim to shut down Fitzgerald that doesn’t make sense man.
@eldontakeda9789Күн бұрын
Buster Posey is very intelligent. When they won three World Series he was the catcher. The catcher is the second most important person and intelligent position second to the manager.
@markmv19Күн бұрын
Ben you’re sounding like some of these uneducated fans that think you need to have all these superstars on your team to get anywhere ? I generally liked your podcast but let me help you out here. First of all. It is not called Twitter. Do you call the ballpark pack Bell park ? Do you call our ballpark Att park ? You don’t you call it. Oracle Park because that’s the name of it right . I think that’s the spelling. There’s no news or organization not ESPN not MLB not the White House that calls X Twitter still ! You have to stop that now it sounds like you don’t know what you’re talking about .
