Glad to hear you reference God and His creation in your video. Too many enjoy His blessings but never give Him - where it all comes from - another thought.

I travel from the Dallas area about every 6 weeks to fish from Bolivar and Galveston and Love this channel. Thank you for uploading these. I find them very helpful as my trips have to be planned well, because I no longer live in the area where I can just go home and bring what I forgot or need because of the changes.

Where do you fish from? Must be worth it coming from Dallas. I haven't been liking Galveston the past couple months. Seems to have been so slow.
@jefffontenot45513 жыл бұрын
@@briarfox637 Bolivar beach mainly. I just park and camp on the beach from Thursday nights to Saturday mornings. I went to Galveston pier on my last trip and it was ok, but you had to get a hotel room. but I really have no plans to go to Galveston. I use to live North of Houston and it would be a nice 18hr trip, but now that I travel that far, I set up camp and stay a bit longer.

@@jefffontenot4551 Ahh thats cool. I've never camped out on Bolivar. The peninsula has gotten kind of trashy in the types of people that congregate there lately.

@Wild Caches @Wild Caches we've been using live bait (shrimp) a lot lately and have been doing good catching trout and flounder, but always small red's. I've actually been trying to find out what lures to use for Redfish mostly also, since Red's have been the only thing we strike out on lately. I'm gonna try the lures RX is using in this vid that are buggs lures. The click-bait shrimp and the curl-tail redfish jig are what I plan to go with.

You mentioned wade fishing at San Luis pass. That's a no go bro, as too many deep holes to fall into and drown. You see I grew up in Brazoria county and I fished there quite often. My dad and I did wade fishing there a couple of times. (on the Surfside,side) then we got wise as we saw a couple of fishermen go and just be gone. I was probably just a young'un.But I remember that to this day. So if you go wade fishing on that side you can lose your life as the combination of current, and deep holes to step into is a deadly combination. Wear a life vest and no waders. Waders fill-up when you step into a deep hole. Every year growing up someone's life was taken that way, 1 or more at a time. I hope they have warning signs posted, if there are, Heed those warnings, and catch a bunch of limits. (so long ago there were no limits on any fish except Redfish they had to be 14 or 17 inches to keep and that had barely been in effect) God bless you and your loved ones

There are spots that you can wade safely, but that place changes so much I'm not gonna chance wading there. I had a buddy who went in knee deep and literally in a matter of seconds he was neck deep. He described the sand shifting out from under his feet. That place is dangerous. When I lived near the channel, 13 people drowned in 1 year. Fish aren't worth it imo. No brainer.

I’ve been thinking of visiting the Galveston area for some jetty fishing among other places in that general area. I have a couple of questions. #1. What’s the fishing like around the mid March timeframe? #2. Best inexpensive bait shop locations.

What is the best way to hit that backside? Been there many times over the years, but it is all different from what I remember. Hit the beach access road and ride the beach, or go in under the bridge and take a chance on some of those sand roads? My truck is 4wd, but I'd rather not run it thru some of those swimming pool sized puddles.
