Yeah! I’m Mexican I got married in San Miguel de Allende and I love this city so much! As you said is so charming but also the people, so kind and helpful. I would’ve loved that you guys talk more about all the historical places, restaurants and hotels from 3 stars to very luxury ones. It has been rated in many international magazines as the number one city to live in the world which I agree. So happy that people like you are enjoying my country and let the people around the world know how beautiful and diverse it is.

You are not wrong. This is the highest the bar will ever get: San Miguel de Allende is the most beautiful city in Mexico and probably beyond. There are many other beautiful places, but none of them match the beauty of San Miguel. It is the crown jewel of Mexican travel and I’ve always said it is the ultimate archetype of what a traditional Mexican town is like. You probably know this already, but it was named the “Best City in the World” by TIME in 2017. Enjoy the city! And I hope to see you back in my own city (CDMX) soon!

There are another beautiful cities in Mexico in terms of mexican charm and 'walkability'. For example, Guanajuato, Merida, Ensenada, Querétaro, Tulum, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Puebla. But definitely my top 3 favorite destinations in Mexico is 1) Valle de Guadalupe, BC, 2) Puerto Escondido, 3) Tijuana. This last one city has been prejudged like no other city in the world probably, but it's gastronomy, culture and diversity is amazing. Keep it up with the fun.

It is a beautiful city, but much more than that. It has a history both in Mexican Independence and in the art world. Belles Artes is not to be missed. In 1949 my uncle studied art there along with 100 others on the GI Bill. The art school closed when Sequeros argued with (and maybe threw down the stairs) the Director of the school. There is a great art center now on the Arroyo- not to be missed. It is a city full of live music and great restaurants. It is also filled with tourists of all nationalities and plenty of American expats.

Since you are in Guanajuato state, you should visit Guanajuato City and Dolores Hidalgo(where Mexican war of independence started). I really appreciate all your kind words about my home country. Mexico is very rich and diverse country. You need to go to Oaxaca City that's a beautiful city I bet you guys are going to love it. Oaxaca state is like traveling to another country with its own culture, food and language. Plus its beach resorts...Huatulco, Oaxaca is a beautiful beach destination. You should go there .....I'm sure you are going to fall in love. I went there back on 2009, and God willing I want to go back this summer after I finish school. Saludos.

San Miguel de Allende has a very compact soil, that's not the case for that town, could be for in Mexico City (the difference it's that that happens only in the streets, buildings in Mexico has particular foundations that makes buildings could resist sinking. If you can see, just some of that buildings has short entrances, if the problem were the sinking, all construction in that street will have the same kind of entrance. Some door frames are so old that there wasn't any pavement covering the streets or sidewalks when they were made. After several coatings, street level raised causing some doors to shrink. Or, the property was part of a larger property that was divided and the door was made out of a window from the original property.

When you guys go to Soumaya and Museo Jumex (they're right next to each other) I recommend getting off at Metro Polanco and taking an ECObici. Bike along Avenida Horacio and turn right on Avenida Ferrocarril de Cuernavaca. These streets have dedicated bike lanes so they're easy to bike. Its a very enjoyable bike ride and as you approach the museum you see it in all its glory. I think it adds to the experience vs taking an uber and just getting dropped off. I recommend you download the ECObici CDMX app to see a map of all the bike stations and their status (available parking spaces/available bikes). You can get a 1-day, 3-day, 7-day or 1-year subscription at any of the 4th-generation stations. Visit their website www.ecobici.cdmx.gob.mx/en if you're interested. Have fun guys and that was a great video of San Miguel de Allende! Thank you!

The word Gringo. I was told by my 9th grade teacher that the word GRINGO comes from “green-go-home” which was used when American soldiers were in Mexico way back in history. Mexicans didn’t know English so they would tell the American soldiers “green-go-home” trying to say we don’t want you here, go home. (Soldiers wear green clothing ) With time the sentence “green-go-home” has become simply a word known as “gringo”. Most Hispanics know and use the word “gringo” but don’t know what it means. I’d say 1 out of 1000 people will know. There is probably others stories of what “GRINGO” means, this is just the one I know.

The first story I heard about the word "gringo" is similar. What I heard first is that during the Mexican-American War the American soldiers were heard to be singing the song "Green Grow the Lilacs" and somehow the Mexicans associated "gringo" then with the Americans. There are a number of other stories of the origin of that word. One thing that I heard is that "gringo" means anyone who does not speak Spanish (as a native speaker, I presume). I guess nobody really knows the real origin of that word because there are so many different stories.

I know about 5 different meanings to the word. One of them is that its a word in one of the native languages "gringotl'. It means a foreighn visitor from a very far away land.

pablo Elias I have heard the same. I have also heard it a racist hateful word. One of my Mexican friends daughter called me that and she was severely punished. I also used Gringa as my social media name for a while until I had many of my Mexican friends beg me not to call myself that. I personally find it ok, easy to describe myself and oh well, Gringos may deserve it...I don’t know. I am 😎 cool.

San Miguel de Allende is a magical place; no doubt. I probably mention this before in one of your videos; I recommend y'all to visit "La Huasteca Potosina" in the summer which is located in the state of San Luis Potosi. It is a place where there's extremely beautiful waterfalls, rivers, and springs. It is kind of similar to Garner State park in Concan, Texas but even better!
