Nobody sings classic OPM the way Regine does. Her natural key, tone quality and phrasing modernizes and updates the classic songs without even changing the melodic lines (other than the higher key). If I recall correctly, inimbita ni Regine lahat ng living OPM songwriters ng mga kantang kinanta niya dito sa concert as this is a six night concert which is a tribute to OPM.

Sana'y Maghintay Ang Walang Hanggan (Bituing Walang Ningning) Viva Films 1985 2. Kahit Na (Ikaw Pa Lang Ang Minahal) Reyna Films 1992 3. Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap (Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap) Viva Films 1984 4. Pangarap Na Bituin (Bukas, Luluhod Ang Mga Tala) Viva Films 1984 All four were composed by Mr. Willy Cruz. Save for "Kahit Na" which was originally sung by Zsa Zsa Padilla, the other three were Sharon Cuneta classics.

Inimbita ni Regine lahat ng living songwriters to witness the concert which ran for 6 nights at the Aliw Theater. Iba iba ang repertoire every night. I am a huge fan of both but imho Lea’s rendition of the medley had more heart, mas puno ng emosyon, mas dama. Maybe because it was sang live with the orchestra. Mas lumitaw ang pagiging classical OPM ng mga awiting ito nung inawit ni Miss Lea.

@@RicochetPuno Lea is untouchable sa broadway kind of singing at sa disney. forte nya yan at dyan sya trained. pero di sya ganun ka-successful sa pop and ballad. kasi naka-kahon ang technique nya sa broadway, hence monotonous sya sa pop and even OPM. si Regine kaya di nag pursue sa broadway kasi mawawalan sya ng freedom to sing any song and genre na gusto nya. even kapag hollywood singer ka, limited ka sa kakantahin mo during concerts. another reason bakit tinanggihan ni Regine ang US music industry. mas naging makulay at expressive ang boses ni Regine kasi na try nya ang maraming techniques and hindi na mabilang ang nakanta nya during SOP, concerts et al. when it comes to being soulful and expressive, hindi kailangan ni Regine idaan sa emote ng muka o katawan para lang ma convey ang story, soul & emotion ng kanta. kailangan yan lahat sa musical/broadway (visual and audio needed). Regine is a singer kaya nasa boses ang emotion nya.

Everytime I see videos from Ang Ating Musika Concert, I am always wishing and hoping that if only I could turn back time, I would watch this.. I was then just an student then and financially unable to buy concert ticket... and I did not learn about this. If only I was informed, I should've saved and prepared for this... 😭😭😭😭 Anyway, thank you for the people uploading videos of Songbird, most specially her concerts. Now that I am working and there are friends blessing me who happen to be Reginians as well, I see to it that I watch her concerts.
