Try and listen for the downbeats, the crucial cue for singing. There are a total of 6 downbeats before the melody begins, with intervals of roughly 4 seconds. However, remember that intervals are irregular, especially with soulful music, when music slows down and speeds up. Singers need be able to count them to do it right, and you can do this! I had to work hard to learn this. Just after the lyrics appear, there is a downbeat (0:19). This is the 6th downbeat. Just after that downbeat (not on it), the melody starts (after 0:19 but before 0:20). Strictly, the start of this music is the first downbeat (this isn't always the case). I hope this helps.
