The answer is taught by Paul in Romans 7. Put your faith in the Cross and for each issue that you hate in yourself, you hate it because God has shown it to your spirit. Therefore you must turn it over to Jesus to remove it. One issue at a time. You may be buried under 1,000 types of sinful actions that you cannot stop doing, but you are saved. Each sin you become aware of, you go to prayer, ask forgiveness, and forgive all those you have hurt or those who have hurt you. You do not have to FEEL that forgiveness but you must want to be able to forgive. What you proclaim to the Lord, he will undertake to do in you. You say, Lord I forgive them of whatever it is, out loud. Sometimes the hurt is so deep you cannot even say that. But you can say, Lord I cannot in myself forgive them, but I know you can help me to forgive them, pry this unforgivness away from me as if I were a small child because I cannot let go of it myself, but I desire to follow your commandments. You pray this prayer everyday until you see the change and it will come, I promise. There is nothing the Lord cannot deal with, and unforgivness is the chiefest of problems he desires to cleanse you from. You will feel a change quicker than you though possible. With unforegiveness out of the way, now you search your spirit and decide what you have been shown is the next sinful action that the Lord must help you to be healed of. You are asking him to heal parts of your spirit, those infirmities Paul spoke of that came about because of the fall. This is why no works can help you or save you, you are asking first for spiritual healing, to eliminate those bruises from the fall. When they are healed, and many may fall off quickly like alcoholism or addiction or lust, others may take longer because you like those sins and your heart does not fully desire to be rid of them. But you can pray the same prayer, Lord pry my fingers from these sins because I desire to be holy. You are sanctified by the same way you were saved. You declare with your mouth, then leave it with God, with your faith ever in the Cross of Calvary where the blood was shed, looking to Jesus alone. You do this, and your life will never be the same. Paul was hard to understand, Peter even said that in his letters. The Holy Spirit only works when your faith is in the Cross, Romans 8:2. Nothing else.

What then is our responsibility or our work to do if it’s God’s Spirit that’s sanctifying us? Is it possible to be in a state of rushing the process of renewing one’s mind and being sanctified?

Our responsibility is to just have faith in Christ’s ability to finish the good work that he started in us…. Without faith it is impossible to please God as it is written so I hope that answers your question love ❤
