Indigenous tribes like the Quinault Indian Nation have depended on the ocean for millennia. Today, species like the razor clam provide Quinault members with sustenance and income. Watch our video to hear this Quinault Story from the Blue and to learn how Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary helps support culturally-important ecosystems.

Stay off the Rez! (Beaches require a guide, and hunting or fishing requires a permit with a Quinault guide) But the NW Washington is one of the most awesome places I've ever been. Fortunately the Quinault got screwed a lot less by The US Government than nearly all of the other Native Tribes...

Please tell me when I could purchase these clams. I know where Tahola is, as I've visited Washington Coast for some past years. But didn't of the harvest. I'm Mohawk from southern Quebec. Just asking.. Thanks...

Quinault people don't usually make profit from the clam dig. The taholan people's make profit and income from the ocean.

@@Jordan-de3ln generally spealing not many people want to travel to do get clams, some people in my family loved to do it and sell them off but they don't make as much as I'd think they'd make. But maybe I'm not considering something? Sorry, I don't have much information of the topic. ❤

@@scoobs22 yeah in reality it depends on the person. Not a clam digger at all so I wouldnt know how much exactly youd make. It's also seasonal too.
