Two settings of the Latin Sanctus reflect on the text “Heaven and Earth are full of Thy
Glory.” Gjeilo’s Sanctus: London lusciously sets the voices with string-like writing-often
sustaining vowels as instrumental color below moving solo lines, as the harmony flows freely
from one tonal center to the next
