Zero dislikes! How is that possible on YT? Too long to explain, but this footage and lite commentary helped me immensely. Thank you.

I live near Silver Lake in Michigan and I've often thought about taking my F800GS to the dunes nearby with my Anakee 3 tires. I now realize I probably shouldn't do that unless I'm in a group like you guys. I'd absolutely wipe out with the bike swerving like that hahaha.

Is that an original steer?

Maaate, just seen your review on Revzilla for these tyres and thought I'd watch your video here... I'm genuinely amazed at how good these tyres were in the deep sand! I'm looking at putting a set on my Africa Twin and I definitely think these tyres are the top choice now. Cheers

Just put those tires on my Tiger and never would have imagined tackling deep sand with them but now I know I could (try at least) if I had to, thanks!

Sweet! Sand can be a lot of fun as long as you’re not scared of it.

It's one thing in those wide open dunes, but I don't think I could take riding between the trees with the handlebars all over the place like that. How are you changing direction? Entirely by peg weight?
@SamChou5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's definitely a 20mph+ riding experience. Turning is relatively intuitive if you've been riding a long time. It's mostly just pushing down on the bars and getting the bike leaned the direction you want to go, throttle it out, and the rear will slide you in that direction.

What ride mode would you have to be on to be able to ride on deep sand like this on the tiger? Ive got a 2016 would like to try this someday.
@SamChou4 жыл бұрын
The specific ride mode that I was in was Full Send Mode. The 2016 Tiger does not have any traction control modes whatsoever, they didn't add ride modes until 2018, I believe. But either way, if you are riding a motorcycle with traction aids, my suggestion would be to disable every single one of them. In the sand, tire slippage is the only way to get moving. Power is your friend, and you have to be able to apply all of it to spin the tire to move enough sand to get forward momentum. If you're not comfortable twisting the throttle as wide as it will go, you will not go anywhere. Full stop. (literally). The purpose of traction control (which the 2016 Tiger does not have) is to regulate power output, so is the last thing you want in sand.

Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Just outside of Coos Bay, Oregon. Specifically at the Spinreel Campground.
