Sand sieve from an old concrete mixer

Of course, every builder is faced with the fact that sand for construction is brought with all sorts of foreign inclusions (clay, small pebbles, chalk, etc.). To use such sand in construction, it is necessary to sift it. How do they sow sand most often? Manually, shoveling sand on a fine mesh, angled.
The manual method of sifting sand takes a lot of time and effort. And we need to work fast! And wet sand you can not sift!
Therefore, I came up with a construction made from scrap materials: an old concrete mixer (it is no longer suitable for mixing concrete), an electric motor (1,400 rpm, 1.1 kW) and a sieve. You can easily sort even wet sand!
Sieve made from scrap material:
two rims of the wheel of a motorcycle, the diameters of which are approximately equal to the diameter of the hole of the concrete mixer. In both wheels removed internal spokes.
reinforcement 10 mm, weld to wheel rims every 15 cm;
small metal mesh - we wrap the welded reinforcement with it so that the cylinder is obtained,
wire - we wrap the seeder cylinder with it every 10 cm: fix the metal mesh on the fixture.
Removable sieve - in the place of fastening of the sieve to the concrete mixer, welded “ears” to the rim of the wheel with holes for bolts. In the concrete mixer, drilled holes in the attachment points of the sieve, and connected the structure with bolts, washers and nuts.
To achieve the most tight fit of the sieve to the mixer, the place of their attachment can be missed with gypsum, alabaster, sealant, etc.
On the back of the mixer, cut a hole in the drum so that the material that did not pass through the sieve was unloaded from the mixer with each full turn of the drum.
Under the sieve we put the bag where the sifted sand pours. The bag is fixed on a special support, welded from reinforcement. The dimensions of the frame and the bag are the same. This makes it possible to use screened sand much faster than if it is sifted first in any container and then thrown with shovels into bags.
To carefully detach the sand with dust particles from large particles, we sift the sand at a minimum angle of inclination of the concrete mixer. If you do not plan to continue to use material that does not pass through the sieve, the concrete mixer with a sieve can be placed at a higher angle - and the screening speed will be faster.
With the help of such a construction of a sieve on a concrete mixer, we separate the sand from the fine gravel. The sand goes into solution. And we use crushed stone in the future for playgrounds, dumping of rocky bottom of the sea, dumping tracks ...
