Sand Suppletion at the Belgian Coast- Wenduine - Jan de Nul - 2017

EN: After storm Dieter in January 2017 the dredging groups Jan De Nul, DEME and DC Indsutrial were asked to restore the Belgian beaches after 1 million m³ of sand had been washed away. At Wenduine this was done by Jan De Nul. Their ship 'MS Alexander von Humboldt' came around two times a day to press 6000m³ of sand on the beach.

NL: Na storm Dieter van januari 2017 werden de baggerfirma's Jan De Nul, DEME en DC Industrial opgeroepen om de stranden van België opnieuw op te spuiten omdat er 1 miljoen m³ zand was weggespoeld. Voor Wenduine gebeurde dat door Jan De Nul. Twee keer per dag kwam hun schip 'MS Alexander von Humboldt' 6000m³ zand opspuiten.

if this same natural weather phenomenon had happened somewhere in Africa where I live, it would have been made out to be millions if not a couple of billion dollars worth "Project". And yet from what it seems to look like over here, these companies have come forward to Volunteer their services as part of their CSR!
