Good coverage of sandakfu. Myself and five of my friends made a trekking to Sandakfu 40 years back I.e. in Oct 1981 from Manibhanjan to Sandakfu on foot and spent a night in the forest deptt bungalow made by British, We still remember the trekking. It was amazing and full of thrill. In the morning we enjoyed almost full Himalayan range from Bhutan to Kashmir during sunrise. What a marvelous scene till date we recall the journey

Thank you. I don't think bike is allowed over there. I have not seen a single bike over there whatever time I have spent. Only 4 x 4 SUV that too you have to book from the association. Private 4 x 4 can go maximum up to tumling.

I wonder why Sandakphu is so different even administration wise, why is it so expensive.it somehow feels like deliberately kept inaccessible and excessively pricey.

Not that the case..its lack maintianance and infrastructure..its still inaccessible to a group of tourists..those roads damages these cars..and limited infrastructure makes it expensive to provide accommodation facilities to demanding city tourists..

Thanks for watching. I guess you have to produce a copy of your passport and visa for foreign nationals. These are restricted areas, too. I think separate permission will also be required to enter the national park. Best to check with your travel agent or the tourism website.

Now coming back to your question, I will suggest you go for GTA trekker's hut.GTA booking office is in Salt Lake or just check internet. Where are the other office locations? Do you remember the trekker's hut is dorm with common toilet.

You should have asked to any of service boy about mattress, they usually take 50--150 rupees for mattress. We got it on 100 rupees. yes if you asked it on counter then its around 300 or above. Last year we have ate unlimited veg thali on 150 rupees. I don't know the price now

Hi, nice video. But it would have been better if you had mentioned that going from manebhanjan to sandakphu on the same day is not a good idea, since people can fall prey to altitude sickness, especially given the recent deaths of two tourists. A lot of people follow your vlogs and make decisions on the basis of the content you put out. A little word of caution would have been better. Sandakphu is not a random tourist spot, it's a proper high altitude destination.... Hope you don't mind my saying this....please take it in the right spirit :)

Thanks for watching. Reaching Sandakphu in one day is not an issue. It's the most common practice. Most tourists do that except older adults. Altitude sickness may come if one smokes and drinks; however, below 10000 ft, altitude sickness is rare. I expect anyone to check with their physicians if they are physically fit to travel. In case you have not skipped the vlog, the stopover options are clearly called out for the same purpose. Also, on the route, you stop over multiple times to take a break, which helps you acclimatise. The news says, "suspected altitude sickness." There are other conspiracy theories also on the news, which grab our attention.
