जया बच्चन ने बीते दिनों खुद को जया अमिताभ बच्चन के संबोधन किए जाने को लेकर आपत्ति जताई थी. उन्होंने कहा था कि किसी भी महिला को उसके पति के नाम से बुलाया जाना गलत प्रैक्टिस है. जब पहली बार जया बच्चन राज्य सभा में नाम को लेकर आपत्ति जाहिर कर रही थीं तब आसन पर हरिवंश नारायण सिंह बैठे थे.
इसके बाद इस सप्ताह सभापति जगदीप धनखड़ ने दो बार उनका संबोधिन 'जया अमिताभ बच्चन' के नाम से किया. शुक्रवार, 9 अगस्त को जब सभापति ने उन्हें इस नाम से संबोधित किया तब उन्होंने कहा, "मैं एक कलाकार हूं. मैं शारीरिक भाषा और भाव समझती हूं. लेकिन आपका लहजा सही नहीं है. हम आपके सहकर्मी हैं लेकिन आपका लहजा अस्वीकार्य है."
