Okay but speaking of crying... So, this comment is operating on my opinion that Virgil was always only trying to protect Thomas and keep him safe and happy. He was just kinda... bad... at it... So, I was watching the end of 'New Year of Lying to Myself' in this video and I was seeing, as each Side started harmonizing, Virgil looking at each of them, as he was slowly abandoned by all of his friends until he was alone (I know that's not what they were doing but as the literal EMBODIMENT of anxiety that was probably how he felt about it). And it hurt my soul.

As a theater kid I can confirm. In the shows I've been in people have: Misplaced a cell phone Decided to chew my gum on stage when they weren't supposed to Moved my notebook Moved my eyeliner Moved the Tin Man's axe And tried to play with my bike. And those were after multiple warnings to stop touching the props.
