The 15 year old lad Isaac has great potential to be a good fast bowler. I'm sure if he develops some more strength in his shoulders his bouncers would be difficult to play let alone pull. Hope to see him bowling really quick in the next 2-3 years.

Love these, and I'm not even from the area (Worksop in North notts). Just out of interest, how do you go about recording this? As the match is playing do you jot down certain deliveries to be on the highlights and then edit out all the other stuff later. You must have one heck of a memory card.

I'm working on a guide for interested clubs. there's a formula that makes it quite easy - basically I edit as I go by shooting every ball but deleting the balls where nothing happens. That way I'm left with about 40 mins from a game and I simply trim it down to about 25 mins from there.

Thanks, great question - we do not pay Shareef, or any of our players. No problem with any club paying players - just wish they would pay players appropriate to the standard of the team/division.

I like the TBCC vids - they look like a good side and i would say we are evenly matched, though they look a bit more hardened than Sanderstead. I reckon it would be a good game, but so tough to get the strongest sides out when its not a league game.

Sanderstead CC TV although an average sized club, I think you should definitely consider playing abroad in places like Sri Lanka, South Africa, it would be a stunning experience as well you’d gain a great insight in how cricket is played Across The globe:)

another question. I see Christie works at the oval and prepares the pitch at sanderstead too. does he do the pitch at the oval too or just the covers because the oval is very flat yet the sanderstead wicket seems very up and down. it always looks nice though

As a fellow cricketer playing at a roughly similar level (Cherwell League), I have really enjoyed your weekly updates and it feels like Sanderstead is my second team. I am amazed, though, at Christie batting at 7. Why? He looks to me as a good nos.5 who can bowl a bit as well. Is it a personal preference?

7/8 is perfect for a player like Christie who is great at rebuilding after a collapse. Think Gilchrist for Aus who turned things around for them so often.

Its obviously working for him and the team. To me he looks more like a Mike Hussey (so best at 5/6) than a Gilchrist, but I only get to watch the highlights. Good luck for the final game of the season. Like you guys, we are mid-table having blown our promotion chase in the second half. So we may try and follow the Sanderstead template of going out and having a blast next week. Your young fast bowler looked good, with a nice economical action btw!

We used to - we've had numerous overseas players over the years and until last season we had a Pakistan A player who was with us for about 6/7 years and was great. This year we couldn't afford it and we have such good club talent we felt we could manage without.

Tricki is going to a good club in Sutherland shire. Their first grade squad has Josh Hazelwood, Austin Waugh (Steve Waugh’s) son, and sometimes Steve Smith will be around the squad maybe even play given his run of horrors this year !

Yes, we went from div 5, to 4, to 3, to 2 in successive years - its been quite a ride and we always felt that this year would be one of consolidation. We have not played to our potential this season, so when we do we will prove to be good enough.....

Thanks - I agree, to come 4th in this league (assuming we win next week) will be a great achievement considering we are a very small club with no money for pros or overseas players and most of our players being developed through our colts system. With a little work on mindset ("the next frontier" in sport), we can go further.

George is off to Aus for the winter and didn’t want to risk injury in a dead game. Longcock in 2s - they won easily and he didn’t have to do much other than eat his tea. Isaac looks great!

Since his last two Warsop bats split he has been through Five this season. if Warsop want to send a couple of 2lb 10oz lower middle bats along they will get plenty of exposure here next season as he scored hundreds of runs a season with Warsops over the past five years supplied by his old school director of cricket and top bloke Richard Risbro. So yes they are great bats.

Can’t help but notice most short balls being put away, maybe it’s the track but the batsmen aren’t playing too many false shots to the short balls, if they were it would be understandable to bowl them, but they sit up on this track and ask to be hit. Just a thing for the bowlers to think about for next year

Hi Luke - yeah, the boys were a bit "end of term" today as the result didn't really mean anything. Still, it's disappointing to see wickets thrown away, though, as this is what we need to improve for 2019.
