Fossil evidence of Sandhill Cranes goes back at least 2.5M years, and possibly past 10M years depending on how we slice the fossil record. This makes the Sandhill Crane one of the oldest species of bird still alive today. This is likely the reason its call sounds so weird. That call is truly from another era.

Do these birds bite humans or no ?? N r they found in Fla. Or other places too ?? They sound kewl as hell...lol💋💕❤💙👍

They found in the Us from florida to Alaska and they are also native to Siberia. Although they are very gentle and docile birds they can be aggressive if they perceive you as a threat hope this helps
