The coolest thing about my trip to The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge was seeing the same sandhill cranes that migrate through Nebraska (my home state) nesting in the refuge. What can be done to encourage Nebraska's current senators, Republicans Deb Fischer and Ben Sasse to support this bill? All they have to do is visit Kearney, Nebraska "Sandhill Crane Capital of the World" to see just what's at stake in their own back yard. One of the big arguments is "all these outside people have no business interfering with Alaskan land management" but the truth is there is a global network of migratory birds that travel there to breed from six continents and all 50 states!
