Was blessed to be the one selected to sing this at a Christmas cantata in December 1993. Terrifying. How do you live up to THAT voice??? Was told I did well but I didn't quit my day job. THIS SONG BLESSED ME SO MUCH and brings back dear memories. This was my testimony. I got saved on a Sunday night, March 12, 1972, but didn't feel any different. WOKE UP MONDAY MORNING A DIFFERENT PERSON. My anger and fear were GONE. The desire to drink and take drugs -- GONE. The desire to shoplift -- GONE. I was FULL OF JOY for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE!!! REAL joy. It sounds like a cliché but EVERYTHING SEEMED BRIGHTER. I vividly remember thinking that my room seemed brighter. EVERYTHING seemed brighter. Must have been Jesus' presence in my life -- the Shekinah light from the presence of the Holy Spirit. I have forgotten that. Father, forgive me and flood my life with your glory...

I was 16 years old and directing our small rural church choir around 1987. I can't believe I selected this difficult cantata - a definite recipe for failure. But the choir members were so dedicated and did their very best. I was a tyrant and delusional. I even strongly "encouraged" my sister to do this solo, unaware at the time that it was Sandi Patty doing the demo. God forgive me. 😆 🤣 😂

You know the death of this genre of church choral music was that no one could sing it. This song is the perfect example. No one could sing this like Sandi Patty - and this was just meant to be a "demo tape" for church choirs who, bless their hearts, tried so hard. But it never sounded like this and that therein, was the problem.

I totally agree. It sounded easy but great when I first listened to it and selected it for our small rural church choir. Big mistake even though the members were totally dedicated.
