I'm really surprised there's not a lot of youtube subscribers for your site. There should be more. The amount of helpful and insightful info. that is shared is priceless!!. I'm new to zone 9/B gardening and I wouldn't have been able to grow anything that is healthy and productive, if I had not found this site!! Huge thumbs up to Bridgette/Jeff and the rest of their team!!

I've managed to relocate 3 skunks off neighbor's properties without being sprayed. You'll need a truck bed, a large live trap with some tasty bate (don't skimp on these 2), coveralls, and a dark blue or black blanket. Place the trap where you think they're hiding out or digging with the bag over the top and 3 sides. Skunks are nocturnal, so they'll get in at night and you'll check it during the day. A game cam works well for this. When you've got your stinky feline trapped, wait til midday, lower the blanket gently and slowly over the door side but leave the bottom open for air. They will be dormant and docile 9x out of 10 now. Back up a truck as close as you can to touch the trap as little as possible and load into the bed without sliding it around. Driving with very smooth transitions and slowly, relocate a few miles away in a forested area where food is plentiful for them. Open the door while you pull the blanket off as swiftly and noiseless and possible with the trap door opening facing away from you and your vehicle. Now just chillax til they wake up enough to skamper off. Or for you urbanites, just call animal control.

If you get sprayed though, use a paste of dish soap and baking soda with hydrogen peroxide. You can Google the Humane Society's recipe for ratios. I've never been sprayed, but my dog loves those stink bombs.

You can try spraying ammonia around your veggie beds. It's supposed to be great at deterring most mammals. It works well. You do have to respray after it rains. I hope it helps.

I had something digging in my garden as well, we believed it was an aardvark (living under the driveway) only way we were able to stop it was by putting a fence around the garden.

The animals that dig in the soil and don't mess with your plants are most likely digging for grubs. It happens to me a lot and that's when I know it's time to check for grubs--it's like they can smell them or sense that they're in the raised bed. 😪 I tried to remedy of using skewers in the soil to prevent the animal from waning to come into the bed but I only have a few beds and it works but I don't think it would be ideal for a larger scale garden or farm. It would take so many lol

I have kale, carrots, red onions, scallions, garlic, radishes, red potatoes, and cabbage coming up in my winter garden, but your video has inspired me to go out and plant more radishes, more carrots, and some snow peas in my raised bed winter garden. I have holes in my garden soil too, and I think it's birds digging for seeds. I have four chickens, but they can't get into the winter garden because there's fencing around it to keep the dogs out. I'd like to try some fava beans, if you're giving out free sample seed packs. Happy Gardening!!

Glad I watched this - as I had a different plan for snap peas - will get them in the ground this week; green onion and mini romaine were successful - I shoulda panted more - probably too late now - the cabbage grew but cabbage worms got the best of it sadly - spinach did not grow at all 🤷🏻‍♀️so I don't know what went wrong there - thanks again - so far I am super pleased with the seeds and calendar I received

Zone 9a, TX Gulf Coast here. I would love to get out in our garden, but we are in the middle of a deep freeze. Our "winter" the last few years consists of a couple of nights of deep freezing- just enough to kill or set everything back, followed by a quick warm up. Ugghh... it is frustrating.

We have some beautiful cabbages in our garden right now thanks to your tips about row cover and plant spacing. 🤞🏼 I can almost taste the kimchi. Now carrots on the other hand are a bust. I followed all the tips and covered them with a board and didn’t let them dry out but they still didn’t germinate! Well that’s an exaggeration, I have maybe 4 out of 3 full seed packets. So frustrating! I’m wondering if it’s our water here in San Diego. What do you think? I’ve only been trying for about 10-15 years 😅

New gardener here. So could be a stupid question. I'm confused on whether you are saying I can direct sow in January when you show seedlings? Would I be too late to start these seeds in January when you are showing me seedlings you already have growing? And when you show the board, you say "plant" in January not "sow" in January. Are the ones on the board to be sown in January? Trying so hard to learn.
@SanDiegoSeedCompany

You can start or direct sow. Which method depends on the plant itself, but these can be started either way this month
