I love your video. If I am an amateur, which I am, what kind of sander do you recommend for me to sand an occasional piece of furniture? Thank you so much.

It all depends on what type of stain you used. With oil based stain you can use mineral spirits and a rag to wipe as much of it off, let dry and sand with 120 grit. With water based stain you can try to sand it all off. Most stains (with the exception of a dye stain) sit on the surface of the wood and do not get absorbed Into the grain.

Hi, love your videos. My question is, what about the edges of the table? You didn't show us that. I have the same vacuum setup. Its loud but does the trick

Please - how do you sand the edge bare?
@ccr50784 жыл бұрын
Hi. Love your videos. Hope you can help. I stripped stain off a table top to raw wood. I sanded to a 400 grit and then learned it was too much so went back and finished with 150 grit. I applied wood conditioner ( GF), then applied GF oil based gel stain. 24 hrs later I see that there is scratching showing through and the surface is rough, not horribly but enough to make me wonder what happens when I apply arm r seal. There is one coat of stain in the right color and no need to add another coart. What do you suggest I do now?? Will the arm r seal smooth out the surface or should I sand and reapply the stain? If so, can a light hand sanding with 400 grit do it?? Do I have to remove all the original stain I just applied? Thanks for help!!!!!

How would you deal with gouges in the wood
@darr19645 жыл бұрын
Most tablets are a veneer on top of an MDF, plywood or wood substrate, so be careful when sanding so you don't break through the substrate. If you can't sand it out it's best to just leave it.

What do you do if you leave stripper on to long? It’s sticky and pretty dry. What should I do?

You may have already found it by now, but if not look at his videos, it is about 10 videos later. Staining with Java Gel, I think is the title.
