I grew up in Singapore, all my friends were Chinese except one Malay and two Tamils, we used to play being characters from Sandokan. Being British I always had to be the evil James Brook and my Tamil friends had to be my soldiers. I loved this programme and read everything I could about the period, about Malaysia, Indonesia, the Straits Chinese, Italians, Portuguese, Arabs, Dutch and British. I can remember doing a project for it in school all because we used to watch this programme. That was many many years ago.

I don't think you are the only one, but watching the tv show now is really funny experience. I can't stop myself from laughing whenever there is some fight going on. It looks so ridiculous :-D but for that time it was fabulous :-)

For me, the best tv series of the history. I remember, english army represented the bad guys here and, in a curious and understandable manner, britains never knew this tv program massively. I devored every chapter, every minute. Based on a book from Emilio Salgari. He was an incredible writer and, if you never read his books, this is the moment, his books are a lot of fun!

I am a devoted fan of Sandokan the greatest character in entire fiction. Sandokan is legendary and immortal.The first time I saw the Sandokan (1997)mondo tv cartoon on Indian Channel I was dying to watch it.The cartoon was just epic. .The writer Emilio Salgari was a genius who had lived a tragic life before committing suicide .He wrote Sandokan in Italian probably would have been most sold out blockbuster writer had he written his works in Spanish .Sandokan,The Black Corsair and many masterpiece works. I read Sandokan books the ones which were translated to English Sadly there only 5 or 6 available in English. I never knew our own Indian actor that too Kabir Bedi played Sandokan role great to see him . Great Actor with powerful eyes!!

As a kid, in early 2000's sandokan was my hero. Wanted to grow a large beard and hair like him. Me and my friend were playing that I was sandokan and he was Janez. He is still one of my best friends, a brother like Janez was for Sandokan. This theme is nostalgic af.

​@@frenkstadier2748 Die genaue Zeit kann ich nicht sagen, da ich seit Anbeginn in Italien lebe und die ganze Sprache praktisch durch den Kontakt mit Italienern + ein Italienisch-Wörterbuch gelernt habe. Jeden Tag versuchte ich, mir so viele Wörter wie möglich zu merken und sie in der Praxis anzuwenden. Aber ich erinnere mich, dass ich nach 3 Monaten telefonieren konnte. Es braucht ein wenig Geduld und vor allem nicht aufzugeben 😊

Als Kind habe ich die Serie Sandokan geliebt und sehr gerne geschaut. Der Tiger von Malaysia mit den tollen Augen.🤗😍In der Folge wo er in der Festung eingesperrt war, bekam ich einen Schreck. Aber er hat sich mit einer List befreit, indem er das Schlafgift aus seinem Ring zu sich nahm und scheinbar leblos ins Meer geworfen wurde. Dort löste er den Sack und schwamm quicklebendig davon. 👋👍🥳😃
