Not quite, Lovers Rock dates from the late 70's, Janet Kay, Jean Adebambo etc. and it was a UK phenomenon, to be precise London and more precisely my yard Hackney. It never quite got the acceptance in JA, but can't be doubted as one of the inspirational reggae sounds.
