Sandra Dee is the only Gidget & MOONDOGGIE “was”James Darren & only two ( couple) I adored! The first Gidget movie was my favorite & any one else taking these characters parts were just not the same, for me!

100%. Gidget Goes Hawaiian and Gidget Goes to Rome didn't compare. I missed the chemistry between Sandra Dee and James. The two women in the sequels didn't have Sandra Dee's spark; the writing in part 3 was just bad too. Sandra Dee and James Darren are my Gidget and Moondoggie.
