@@gmdmosnuckel I feel like even though Sandstorm knows what he is doing in terms of fighting most players, it's just the way the players used Axe itself that threw him off. It's playing on a fine line at the moment when fighting Axe, if the opponent whiffs most of their attacks you will find it easy to deal with them. But when they bait you and punish you super well, it can feel oppressive. On top of it, Axe recovery is extremely slow to actually put out a hitbox so it is really easy to punish when you know it is coming.

@@Quackrawhat sucks is how much damage and stun it does in comparison to the start up on many moves. Mostly the nlight and the dlight, the nair and dair, and the old gp. They just need to shorten the range on certain moves (nlight) and slightly slow down other moves (dlight) and it would be more in line.

@@bp-qh3nv Who lied to you? Axe averages out to around the same damage per hit as Hammer, Lance and even Canon (Which yes, is technically a heavy weapon). GS only averages lower because of the fact that it has way more attacks that do less than 10 damage, which Hammer and Lance only have one of those and often times at 8 strength vs 5 defense do close to 20 damage per hit. the two moves being Lance Side Light doing 8 damage and Hammer Dlight doing 9 damage. The ground pound on Axe also does less damage than Lance and Hammer ground pounds by 5. So no, you're just uninformed about how much of a difference that actually is.

Because his signatures, stats, and weapons are all super high tuned for damage while having very little ability to punish them. Axe and hammer both are too fast to be considered “heavy” but have the damage. There is no trade off. Literally hammer, the giant heavy fucking hammer which literally sounds like a stone on hit, had more true combos than most weapons in the game. There are so many things wrong with hammer it is practically a joke. Then there is axe, which again is faster than many light weapons, with the damage bonus of being a heavy weapon. Think if a game had a sniper rifle with the 2-shot or 1-shot kills without any sort of small clip or slow fire rate. It would be unquestionably the best weapon. In video games there needs to be a certain balance. In this instance there is a very obvious imbalance when it comes to how powerful axe and hammer are. That’s why you see teros winning most of the tournaments recently. He is the most powerful character because of how strong his weapons are.

This is not to say that the people playing these weapons are “bad” but simply they are taking advantage of the imbalance present in the game. So when you see someone like sandy bear weas easily in the first round only to lose as soon as the teros comes out. Is it really coincidence?

@@grimmjow3837 Infelizmente modificaram tanto coisas inúteis na movimentação e mecânica do jogo que, o machado por exemplo que no momento é extremamente quebrado e forte em comparação com outras armas, na mão de um ralé jogador passivo se torna tedioso e algo repetitivo de assistir já que não agrega em nada a gameplay do mesmo, e jogar contra. Não sei se compreende esse fato, seja Sandstorm, Wess ou sei lá quem. Assisto campeonato para ver freestyle, players que inovam e conseguem dar uma beleza a mais no jogo.

Your comment is legitimately flawed as sure it's probably harder than just playing Axe, but Sandstorm getting 3rd using Mordex only shows that he's that good without it. We're not fighting Smash Bros Brawl Meta Knight here where you basically couldn't compete without playing him. Axe is just overtuned more than other weapons which is why people are using it the most right now.
