Just a quick conversation between myself and Arnel Pineda, the new lead singer of Journey. He is an amazing singer from the Phillipines who was discovered by Journey on KZbin!

Living on the streets like Arnel was will make you humble. I personally came from a shitty home, not a lot of $$$, couldn't afford heat in the dead of winter once. It REALLY makes you humble, just like Arnel here. You NEVER forget your roots. Neal Schonn can sometimes be an asshole but at the end of the day he can pick singers. I loved Steve Augeri first replacement and Arrival. I thought that album was NOT given it's due. Saw Steve with Journey 3 times, he did a great job for them, was also VERY humble. If he had not blown out his pipes who knows how long he would have lasted, they were picking up steam. Arnel was a great addition and took them to a international level that they didn't have with Augeri.

Steve Augeri needs to be noticed and given recognition he is the singer that replaced Steve Perry. SA made it possible for AP to experience dreams of a life time. Thank you Steve Augeri. I am a huge Arnel Pineda fan however, you guys need to realize, as AP realizes the band was before him. SP and SA will be the singers recognized when inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.Ffollow AP example, he is no God. Just a man that deservingly received an opportunity that he worked very hard.

JOurneyfan, if you watch the youtube video of how he was discovered, search cbs interview arnel pineda, you will have a better understanding. He was homeless when he was a kid he started doing the cover bands 2-3 years ago. To judge a person without knowing exactly or even slight idea on he got through proverty is pretty unfair. thanks

Theres nothing wrong of using Karaoke but during Arnels time singing in the var they used combo band , theres no Karaoke at that time not a trend yet. Band was being used in the bar or clubs.
