Good morning Sandy. I’ve been looking back over your site for 3 hours I love watching you. And today’s water color swells/waves are so peaceful & calming. . It turned out beautiful Sandy. I loved watching the sea in WA. as I am from UK right by the ocean and near the Lake District. Have a lovely week ❤️❤️❤️💦💦💦

I love your painting and I want to leave some feedback. I learned a lot about water control from this video but i have no idea how you painted the ocean waves. You thoroughly explained your reasoning and technique behind how and why you used the amount of water... and you barely touched on the actual painting itself. I don't know how to recreate the waves you did, despite watching this video multiple times. I'm an expert in water control now, thank you, but I really wanted to learn how to paint as beautiful as this and I didn't get that.

Sorry I wasn't clearer, for you I was in a headspace where a lot of people were struggling with the water control and asking questions, and this video leaned that direction because of it.

Thank you! My waves didn't quite look like waves, though they did look fine... how did you get the waves to have so much motion? Thanks!
@SandyAllnock111 күн бұрын
It’s practice to create thick/thin lines that also have a gentle wiggle to them. Just make a page of practice waves on the back of an old painting just ahead of painting waves to get your hand and brush to coordinate ❤️

It‘s nice but I still don‘t know how to do Waves like did you have a reference picture or how do you know where to do shades & lighter Spots ? :/
@SandyAllnock111 ай бұрын
No reference, I’ve just painted waves a lot. The biggest thing to practice is getting pointed edges on both ends of the shapes. If you Google for reference photos that may help find highlights but I find they are revealed by the darks.

Hi Sandy, I do KZbin videos too and I desperately need a heat drying tool to speed up my recording time as I'm using a public space in which to paint.. Please can you tell me what that device was that you used to try your painting? Thank you
