In order to conquer Lamont's (Demond Wilson) heart, his new fling Judy (Judy Pace) gets very friendly with Grady (Whitman Mayo)
From Season 3, Episode 23 'The Way to Lamont's Heart' - Lamont's looking for a little lovin', but new girlfriend Judy is looking to settle down. When Lamont tells Judy he can't get married because his godfather Grady would disapprove, Judy sets to winning Grady's approval with a smile and a smoked pork butt, which sets Grady jumping to conclusions.

Sanford & Son had the best supporting cast on television during that era. Not enough credit is ever given to Demond Wilson for playing his "modern and intelligent" straight man role with a warm heart and a moral sense of integrity. The Lamont character was way ahead of his time. As a 12 year old white kid, I looked up to him as a great role model. He was cool, super-handsome, and had a kind, decent heart. And Demond's chemistry with Redd Foxx was so powerful and natural, that you actually believed that they could've been Father & Son, in real life.
